This is several levels up from what we've seen in other 'restorations'. And they even put in some 'original', brand-new parts! The mechanics are actually taking care of what they do, although there is a lot left to be desired. No thorough cleaning, welding over rust, no rust-proofing, not trying to restore the original structure of the cabin, so it leaves it prone to structural fails... As always, no protection gear, no gloves, no eye protection, apart from the rag around the nose and mouth of the guy who was spray-painting. The end result certainly looks miles better that what I've seen on this channel, but how long it will last, nobody knows. Anyway, props to the hard-working men. I understand that their resources are fairly limited, and they often make do with what they have.

To vordan 7111 some original new brands are from germany...BUT BECARFULL THESE SPARTS PARTS ARE EXPENSIVE.. and often made in CHINA....Any way these workers work so well..

I remember these old Mercedes trucks from the military. They were old in the 1980's but they did the job. The most sophisticated electronics on those vehicles were the turn signal relay... Analog and very basic vehicles which kept them going - however I don't miss them. Safety and creature comforts weren't priorities. They're not just restored - they will be working vehicles probably more modern in comparison to many of the Bedfords. Craftsmen earning next to nothing in spite of their skills is what makes the old timers roll.

Es war hehrlich mit anzusehen wie diese alte mercedes Kabine nach Wunsch des Kunden auf gearbeitet wurde dieser Lkw hat mir schon immer gefallen sammel auch Lkw Modelle in 1-87 davon , hätte gerne noch gesehen wenn der Motor montiert wird wahre Meister seid ihr jeder Handgriff sitzt tolles Video danke

In Deutschland wird genau gar nichts Instandgesetzt. Kleinste Blechschäden sind gleich wirtschaftlicher Totalschaden. Aber den ganzen Tag von Nachhaltigkeit reden. Diese Leute hier leisten großartige Arbeit! Das würde ich mir mal für Deutschland wünschen!

@@schlehb das Bezahlen ist nicht das Problem, hatte ich gerade durch, die Werkstatt will nur neue Originale Ersatzteile verbauen (Blechschaden Tür) natürlich für horrende Preise, von Karosseriebauer oder gebrauchte Teile wollte weder die Versicherung noch die Werkstatt was wissen. Haben uns dann selbst drum gekümmert, für ein Bruchteil der angegebenen Werkstattkosten.

Good Job by helping some old Cabine back to live. Its not restorated by grade note 1 ..its more like 3 ..but a grade is not importan if you saved a dying peace of art. May the next owner will restore it grade note 1 in 20 Jears...(sry, but not longer it takes because of no washers and ...) ... .. Thank you Guys! 🍀

Die guten alten Kurzhauber von Mercedes, das war noch Qualität. LKW aus meiner Kindheit. Wusste gar nicht das es auch schwere Rundhauber mit Scheinwerfern im Kühlergrill gab, kenne sie nur mit Scheinwerfern in der Stoßstange.
