Trudeau announces GST break on some goods, $250 cheques for many Canadians

The Liberal government announced a two-month GST break on restaurant meals, beer, wine, children's clothing, toys, Christmas trees and books, among other items.
It will also send $250 cheques to about 18.7 million people in Canada who worked in 2023 and earned $150,000 or less.
