The litmus test for the assurance of salvation are your desires. I know I'm not perfect, nor will I ever be in this life (and according to 1 John, people who claim to be saved and claim to be sinless are not Christians), but my desire and my constant prayer is to be Holy like Jesus. Although I've got a long way to go in terms of sactification, God is merciful and will forgive me, not because I'm cute and lovable, but because Jesus died for a wretch like me, and I believe the Gospel. Just remember this parable in your battle against sin/for holiness: Two people are drowning in the middle of Lake Michigan on a stormy day and are being rescued by a fishing crew who just so happens to come across them. Then, the captain of the ship throws a life preserver out to them, where one of the two drowning victims reaches for this preserver. That person who's reaching for the life preserver is being knocked down by the waves and is stuggling to stay afloat, but that person finally reaches the life preserver. As that person is being pulled in, waves are still hitting his face and he is still going under sometimes, but he's still safe because he's holding onto the life preserver and holding on for dear life, where he's eventually brought into the safety of the boat. Throughout this whole ordeal, the other person is floating on top of the water, faced down, not moving at all. Now let me ask you this: Which person was alive?

Just don’t let your “turning from sin” over shadow the faith you have in Christ.. when folks hear this repent of sin gospel, they think they need to do “work” clean up their life before they can come to Jesus.. but in reality it’s the other way around, you need Christ first. When you become re born THEN you can start living a repented life. Because if a sinner tried to live a “Christian life” they will get burned out!

I also struggle with a few sins even though I gave my life to Christ around 9 months ago. Being a young adult and surrounded by non believers makes things hard. The sin I personally struggle with the most is lust. I currently have a boyfriend who I’ve been with for over two years and he isn’t a Christian. Since I’ve asked Christ into my life, I often feel guilty for doing things normal young couples do. My boyfriend is my first love and my closest friend on earth. Also, who has experienced weird dreams and spiritual attacks as your walk with Christ started to deepen? I constantly have dreams about the Bible including situations like the dragon and the woman from revaluation 12, resisting the mark of the beast and many others. My last biblical dream was just a few nights ago.

Nearly 25 years ago I was leading a youth group. My first day with my first youth group. I took over for an assistant pastor. With no formal training or seminary I took on the challenge of a youth group made up of mostly "christians". I asked them all 1 question, how do you know your saved? Blank stares throughout the room. They had no idea. For an hour I pressed them for answers. The next day I was relieved of my duties. The senior pastor told me, how dare you question the faith of our youth group!! Sadly, the problem is even worse. Most churches/ pastors have no clue! We have a "Christian society" that are masquerading as sheep but are actually goats. Living waters, Ray and Kirk, never stop doing what you're doing!!! TO GOD BE THE GLORY FOREVER!!!!!!!

jeff buchanan great testimony to showcase this video. Telling the TRUTH in love is not well received by most. I know my family of "Christians" support abortion and never would confront a fellow "believer" about willful sin for fear of being judgmental despite being leaders in the biggest Christian church in town! Loving people right to the gates of hell is NOT my type of love. God Bless.

I believe this is why Paul told us to "work out our salvation". It's not works, and It's not for others to see (though eventually they will) but it's for our own confidence in Christ and in the family. Once I know I'm a tested family member, I'm indeed inclined to invite others to dine. I don't know if this is works but maybe this helps: I can look at prepared plates at the banquet and accept that they're made for me, but if I don't partake of His provision, I'll stumble and starve, never tasting and knowing the depth of His provisions. PS: For those weight-watchers out there, sorry for over-using a food analogy... :) But I've lost 70 lbs just this year!

Tammy Craine It's seems to be easier, for me, to persecuted by the world than by "christians ". It's really difficult and grueling to live with tares. I had a burden from the Lord for 2 years to warn all around me that he put in my heart including letters to all the churches in my town of 13,000 but he has lifted that burden and is allowing me to just rest in him which I am enjoying immensely! ☺️❤️

Amen! I believe that I was one of those false converts. I was raised in church as a child. Was "saved" when I was 10 and baptized at 11. But...my life had no fruit. I did pursue God and the Word on an off for 20 years. Never consistently and mostly in desperate times but I had no fear of God and also no deep rooted desire to please him. I had no head or heart knowledge of the Lord. I knew that he was The Way but I broke pretty much all of the commandments. I was not a follower or Christ though I was a professed believer. It wasn't until 31. 20 years after my baptism that I now believe I became a true convert. Where I devoted my life to him in my brokenness, repented of my sins with true sorrow and turned from my sin. I try to follow him with my life. Over the last 3 years my life has been rebuilt ON Christ and in basically all ways. I'm maturing though I still wouldn't call myself a mature Christian yet but I am intentionally making an effort to die to myself and turn from the ways of the world. That is how I know I'm saved. It's completely different and it's easy for me to see that now. But I can also see how a false convert could live under the belief today that they are saved. God bless you for doing this video.

Gabrielle Kelly; Your story is similar in some ways to mine. I asked the Lord Jesus to come into my life 41 years ago. I believe I was saved then. But it made little difference to my way of life, with alcohol and drugs and other things still in the forefront of my activities. I'm afraid I was misled by the spirit of antinomianism. I didn't realise that being saved is just the beginning of the Christian life. The Lord wants us to enjoy so much more. I have always been unhappy, repeatedly backsliding from good periods to bad and going very low. Recently I was diagnosed as needing a heart valve replacement, and I have a tumour on one of my kidneys which is cancerous. I also need two eye operations. But this is the best thing that has ever happened to me because it shook me out of my miserable complacency. I prayed that God would grant me repentance from all my sins since becoming a believer, and show me how to overcome temptation and lead a holy life.. He answered my prayer and He has made me realise emphatically that as a believer I should depart from iniquity. But what is so wonderful is that He led me to understand that I cannot do this in my own power or by my own efforts. This is what I would like to share with you, because you talk about your making an effort to die to your self. What is wonderful is that when Christ rose from among the dead and returned to the glory, He asked the Father to send the Holy Spirit down to indwell each and every believer. When the Lord Jesus was in the world it was His joy to obey His Father's will in every way. He has now sent the Spirit down to indwell us so that WE TOO can walk in obedience, not in our own power but in His. If we pray to be filled with His Spirit, not just indwelt, but filled, He will grant our request. This is what He wants. Pray and believe and wait, and He will empower you. While we are in the flesh we will always have opposition from the world and from the devil and from our old flesh nature. We have all experienced what it's like to be in a daily struggle, just as Paul described in Rom7. But fighting is different from struggling! We can fight from a position of assured victory if we are filled with the Spirit, instead of struggling in our own very limited willpower. The battle is the Lord's. We have only to trust and live in joyful obedience. The indwelling Spirit then strengthens our faith, and teaches us to hate sin, just as God hates sin. He loves the sinner but He hates sin. It has taken me 41 years and a diagnosis of cancer to learn this. but I am happier than I have ever been in my life. Now I am beginning to recognise temptation when it tries to creep up on me, and when that happens I remind myself that Christ is with me at every moment, and if I give in to temptation I disappoint and grieve and hurt Him who loves me. Finally, dear friend, may I recommend a book to you that will bless you beyond measure. It is by Andrew Murray and it is titled 'The Holiest of All'. It is a verse by verse exposition of the epistle to the Hebrews. Brother Murray teaches, among other things, how the present and continual Priesthood of Christ Jesus in the heavenly sanctuary, and the work of His Spirit in us, guarantees our ability to joyfully walk in love, obedience, peace and power in our daily lives. If you are in England you may be able to get a second-hand copy from Geneva Books in Clapham in London. But wherever you are, I urge you to get a copy. As a Spirit-filled Christian sister once told me; 'Every day is an adventure with Christ'.

A- Consider a discussion with a pastor. A Bible believing church is a good place to start and be fellowshipping with. Other mature Bible believing Christians can help you sort out your concerns. We can fear God and still praise and honor Him by doing what Jesus commanded in the Bible “Be holy as I am holy”. We will only grow in our Christian walk if we read His word, the Bible, consistently and do the things he commanded. Iit’s just action that we must take in spite of our life in this busy time consuming world. God bless you and grow in Christ. Join a Bible believing teaching church and stay in the word you will get there.💟🙏🏻

....AFTER DEATH...WHAT??? You know we’re just passing through this world to get to The next, whether it be Heaven or Hell. “YES!” There is a Hell!!! Most people do not want to know this BUT IT’S TRUE. Like it or not, there is a HELL! And “YOU” make the choice. You may think to yourself: I’ve never hurt anyone. I am no different than anyone else. I do good things for people. Heaven and Hell are on Earth. “Nice try!” I’ve heard them all! But the bible says “THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY TO GET TO HEAVEN! But there are many ways that lead to HELL! Oh, and yes! You can try to say that no one ever warned you about Hell, BUT YOU HAVE JUST BEEN WARNED WHEN YOU READ THIS AND NOW YOU ARE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. Now it’s too late to act dumb. You will be held responsible for knowing this and for being warned about Hell!! WE ARE ALL SINNERS….sin is anything that separates us from God. The bible tells us that any form of idolatry, witchcraft, murder or murderous thoughts, stealing, lying, adultery (sex outside of marriage), same sex marriage, hatred, unforgiveness, etc…. are all sin. God has seen every sin we have ever committed. Yes, EVERY sin. You Must accept Jesus Christ for your sins or else... HELL!! I know you may not like it, but it’s true. You ask yourself, “How do I stay out of Hell? THIS and ONLY this...! Admit that you are a sinner because we all are. Every one of us. Be willing to turn from sin and REPENT. Believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins and rose from the dead as the ONLY atonement. He took your punishment for your sins. Through prayer invite Jesus Christ into your life ....Please don’t go to Hell. You won’t like it. You can’t just try it for a weekend...ITS FOREVER! You are not promised another day on Earth. Tomorrow might be too late. And it’s up to you which one you’ll choose. I tell you this not because it’s my law, but because it’s God’s law and it’s that simple. Sorry there’s no sugar coating this! “But” the truth will set you free. I’m not asking you to go to my church or give me one thin dime, I’m just asking you to turn to .. Jesus

The Falling Away has been on my mind a lot lately. I know when the heat gets turned up a lot of people will do "anything" they can to not get burned. I could see the heat getting turned up by persecution, harming your family, not able to buy food (essentials of living) but I felt there was something more. In tiny steps, God lead me to this Ministry. Most have been taught that when they make the decision to become a Christian, the "genie in the bottle" Jesus will make everything okay. They will not have any trials or tribulations. We know this is false. We are to expect trials & tribulations. I knew the "happy debt free be your best self" gospel was damaging but it is truly lethal. You need to be aware of your sinful nature & have true repentance. God gave us the 10 Commandments. They are so relevant for today too. Satan leaves us clues as to what he truly hates & is after. It's not difficult to see. When did the 10 Commandments get taken out of schools? We need to know his game plan & so many are blind to see it. I will be forever grateful to this ministry for speaking the truth. Now, I have to do something about it.

I was 16 years old, when i came from a christian youth weekend, i chose for Jesus, i was baptized, but i haven't understood the real meaning of the gospel, when you choose Jesus, you choose to FOLLOW Him. You stop walking in your old ways, and put your faith in Him, trusting Him, desire to learn His ways, desire to read His Word. When i turned thirty, God showed me, i was a lukewarm Christian, yes i accepted Christ, but it stopped there! That is not true conversion! The fine Jesus paid, is holy, so, to accept Him and still turn the other way, is actually rejecting His sacrifice. That's why there is in revelation a lettre called Laodicia. It is a warning, i praise the Lord, every day, He opened up my sinful blind eyes. If you choose Jesus, you choose a different life. You can not have both worlds. And we still make mistakes, i admit this, but you need to understand, once you truly seek Jesus with your heart and soul, you don't want the former life ever again. You don't seek pleasure in places you don't belong anymore. You seek to please Him! Thank you for this message, video, this is what should be preached in churches, because people create their own gospel, according to their eyes. This issue is a matter of life or death.

Christianity does work... my life is a testament my life was dramatically changed because 4 years ago I was born again I truly humbled myself and repented from my sins and although satan fought me for 2 years because he knew Christ had the power to change my life and my marriage was restored, my finances, my children. Praise God it works if you really want to turn your life around God will help you, Philippians 1:6 says, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. There were times where I thought I wasn’t going to get through the pain. But the key is prayer and reading the Word daily the Holy Spirit will supernaturally empower you to get through the trials. I thank God every day for the freedom I have in Jesus Christ, satan is a liar and he will keep trying to lie but the Word is louder and more powerful. Amen Hallelujah 💗🙏❤️

*"works have nothing to do with being saved."* We are saved by faith, nothing more, correct. But we must be careful to ignore the clear results that comes along with salvation that are EVIDENCE we are truly saved: repentance, old things passing away and so on. So if a person claims to be saved but has not repented - still sins doesn't care - never reads the Bible - never prays - hardly ever steps into a local congregation of believers - then that's a serious problem: it's clear that person is not saved. Hence that person has not repented, which means they are not really "believing" on the Lord Jesus Christ. Those who claim you do not need to repent to be saved inadvertently teach others the implied damnable doctrine that we can do whatever we want after we're saved because works do not save us, faith does. So care must be taken that while yes, only faith saves, repentance is crucial as evidence we are truly saved, verses another false Christian that will be cast out into hell anyway.

Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us we are saved “BY GRACE, THROUGH FAITH” not by faith. Its a gift from God, and not of our own works “lest any man should boast.” So its nothing we did at all that saved us, otherwise we wouldn’t need a savior. Faith is also a gift from God. Our best efforts can never be good enough to earn salvation.

I’m fearful of not having gone deep enough into the details about their relationship with the Lord. Instead I accepted the comments at face value without examining thire answers any further. I need to make a stronger point about the seriousness of breaking any one of the 10 Commandments to make sure they understand how desperately they need a Savior. I will listen better for signs the Gospel makes sense to them, and will pray for them to trust in Christ alone, not their own goodness, as He was the only One who could pay the penalty due when He died for their sins.

Thank you, Living Waters. I have been deeply concerned about this serious problem for many, many years. My husband and I joined Biblical Ministries Worldwide in 2017 as missionaries to our home State of Maine. As we were growing up as children in Maine, there was a LOT of child "evangelism" happening everywhere. Kids responded to the gospel by the thousands! However, now that we are adults, the vast majority of our generation and the generations after us have turned away from God... The Church in Maine is dying rapidly, and most have few or no members under the age of 50. This is why we obeyed God's call to serve Him here. I have watched many of your videos on Evangelism encounters. I appreciate your use of the Law in showing someone their need for a Savior.

I was always scared to go to church, I wanted to find God but felt the doors for me were closed and I couldn't get in, as years went by and I endulged in sin, and sin bore more sin. I was lost. By community church's standards felt condemned, not welcomed. After life gave me strong slaps and I was at my lowest, and the worst finally happened to me, I started reading the bible, while simultaneously cleaning my act up. I tried in the past to read it but it didn't make sense to me in the past, it was difficult for me to finish and understand. I'm blessed currently with the holy spirit, I'm struggling to keep it with me, in me, as I'm still living in the consequences of my past actions, and smoke because I'm still anxious of what is gonna happen with my case, my kids, our life, but feeling serenity in the midst of all this chaos. I read the whole Bible xmas and clarity was given me, everything made sense and I keep studying my Bible and history of religion till this day. I found God all on my own, he was patient with me, he never let me die in my sin, and I came close alot. What I want to say is man-made church condemned me(greek orthodox) , and I was lost because of it. A church should be open to all sinners who seek God. I was seeking but couldn't find endulged in my sins, with no guidance whatsoever. I had to go through so much heartship, to repent my ways and seek out something better, God. I wish I had guidance sooner, we're hipocrates when we are filled with sin, God is not with us, but when we try he knows, and he's knocking on our door, giving us tools to be better, to be the best we can be, and be at peace with ourselves. We are sure when we are filled with the holy spirit, there is no doubt. But many who pretend to be righteous aren't, this closes the door for so many as it did for me. Man-made churches drive away a potential many of God's children. God bless you guys and your channel, just had to get that out of my chest.

The BEST thing that could happen to false Christians is a lot of struggles, pain and tribulation. When the hardships of life come at you and the "rubber meets the road" , if you turn to Jesus and lean on Him and Him only, you find out the truth. And discover whether or not Jesus IS the Truth. It sucks but we humans tend to go it on our own if we can. And only hardships seem to make us grab hold of Jesus. What a tragedy! To miss spending our lives with Jesus because technically we can. But what a massive waste! Because it's through the bad we discover His goodness. Nahum 1:7

Faith is not a work. The person who believes in Jesus has eternal life. Repentance helps us to grow in the Christian life, but faith is being convinced of the truth of Jesus' promise. I think the difference between false conversion and backsliding is when you're a false convert, you haven't experienced the change of heart that makes you want to walk with God to begin with. If you are a true Christian, you don't dwell on your mistakes because you trust that Jesus has taken care of them. Although you fail, you know that God will always pick you back up when you fall. False converts have no desire to get back to God because they were never with Him in the first place. Does that make sense?

That’s what I don’t understand D. T. Barnes. It seems this channel is all about WORKS. But the Bible says we are not “saved” by works, so that no one can boast. Even the people in the early churches were making mistake after mistake. Even the Apostles were at odds with each other. Paul at one point talked about how he had to rebuke Peter (and this was like over a decade after Christ was resurrected). In Revelations, (when John wrote the letters to the churches) Jesus went off on the churches and the leaders (John included), except for the church that was losing most believers to persecution at that time. They were never perfect.

I've been in a similar state for the past year. It's hard to want to obey God, especially when there are so many ways to get to Hell but getting to Heaven is so difficult. Two things have helped me in my journey so far: 1: Keeping in mind that the pain we go through from denying ourselves in order to avoid sin is temporary, while pain in Hell is eternal. That makes repentance and obedience the rational choice, although I've often found myself reading Job and Ecclesiastes, both written by men who regretted their own births. 2: Recognizing that any violation of God's law hurts somebody. The only rule God gave Adam and Eve was for their own protection. The other rules in the Bible are for the same reason. The more we obey God, the less we'll hurt the people we care about.

Faith without works is dead. Works do not get you to heaven, but they represent the change that happened when you accepted Jesus and got saved and they allow you to spread His message to the world. When people see true Christians, they wonder how they can be so happy and kind and thoughtful. Why do they wonder? Because they see the faith through the works. When you accept Jesus, you will want to follow Him and obey Him in everything you do or say.

I believe everything I just heard. I am a believer. I understand the parables you were talking about. All the things about good fruit and bad fruit. But I would like to include one more. Mark 16:17-18. And these signs shall follow them that believe. In my name they shall cast out devils. They shall speak with new tongues. They shall take up serpents. And if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them. They shall lay hands on the sick, and they will recover. Now based on that criteria, which speaker that just gave all these comments is a Christian? Because the Bible says those sick will recover. Not that they might recover. They will recover. This was spoken by the risen Lord.

What does it mean to "repent"? Throughout the history of Christianity, great confusion has surrounded the condition for eternal life and what it means to "repent." Is repentance a separate condition from faith? Does it mean to do penance for one's sins? To feel sorrow or remorse for sin? To forsake all and follow Christ? To stop sinning or resolve to do so? In the book, Repentance: The Most Misunderstood Word in the Bible, author, pastor, and teacher, Dr. Michael Cocoris cuts through the confusion and provides concrete, biblical answers to each of these questions. He concludes, "Repentance is a change of mind-period. A change of mind should result in a change in behavior, but the word repent looks at the change of belief, not the change in behavior. Repentance is the root; change in behavior is the fruit." Cocoris's "change of mind" view agrees with the opinions of other classical Free Grace authors on the subject, such as C. I. Scofield, Lewis Sperry Chafer, Charles Ryrie, Richard Seymour, and a host of others. According to Cocoris, the Bible does not teach that the nature of repentance itself involves the emotion of sorrow for sin, or an act of penance or turning from sin, or even a decision of the will to turn from sin. While sorrow for sin and turning from it may follow a change of mind, *these should be considered as separate from repentance.* True repentance, according to the Bible, is a change of mind regarding Christ in contexts dealing with the condition for receiving eternal life; and in contexts dealing with fellowship between the believer and God, it is a change of mind about sin. *This understanding of repentance is vital because, when salvation is made to be conditioned on feelings such as sorrow for sin, this effectively shifts the focus of the gospel away from faith in the objective finished work of Christ to subjective inner feelings and religious experiences.*

Love this guy and how he spreads the message!!! I agree on works shows when there is a true conversion. However, we all will continue to battle temptations daily and some days we will fall or backslide. It's not ok but is not uncommon. Afterall, we still live in a fallen creation. Even the men of God in the Bible such as Abraham and Samson, committed sins even while walking with God. Abraham ran from the land God told him to go to and then gave his wife Sara to the Egyptians so he could live wealthy. Samson lost his eyes and was tortured for his sins with phoenician women caught up with him through Delilah. Dont expect to walk as Jesus did but run to Him when you mess up instead of running from Him
