I have a 300 TDI 98 , no problems for 2 yrs , no oil leaks ect a maintained car , as a mechanic once said the body may look amazing it’s what’s underneath that counts ! Doesn’t matter how flash it looks every car on this planet needs maintenance

Seems like the prices for maintenance and repairing is much cheaper than in Germany. Almost worth to visit the UK for service. But you sit on the source of parts obviously while here its so exotic that they extra charge for everything. Keep it running. Interesting vid. Cheers.

Is a good vehicle, but all your Land rover defender are right hand drive and in some parts of Africa we allow right hand drive to uprate on the road but we only left hand drive. In this case how do we go about it to have your product in all countries. Thanks

I didn't know about the euro 6 upgrade so did some Internet searching. It would appear the outfit is working on a package for the 2.4 puma so you may have further interest in that. Also I wondered if you had contemplated fitting the Gwyn Lewis mud shield kit. I've just got mine for the 110 XS but haven't fitted them yet. Look well made and will stop a large percentage of mud ending up in rot collecting areas. Will cost you around £110 which I thought was reasonable for the way they are made and documentation supplied.

You’ve got a sweet deal on your road tax. Government is shafting me for £575 a year on a 2.4L. Also, do you know of any issues with remapping by the 2.4? The garage I usually take it to seemed suggest the 2.4 isn’t good for remapping or tuning and the 2.2 is better.

Yeah, I’m not sure on the road tax 🤔 first year was £575 but now seems to have reduced down - probably best not to ask questions haha! I think the 2.2 has more tuning options, but 2.4 can definitely still be tuned for sure

@@ScoutTheDefender As far as I'm aware all Defenders after 2011 were then classed as N1 Commercial vehicles which attracted the lower tax band.

Just had my 2.4 remapped with a stage 2 pack last week. I literally drove home and the next day it’s struggling, almost like limp mode but no engine light and no fault codes. So annoying after spending 3000 euros including a full service and other bits and now I don’t even know what’s wrong with it.

@@ScoutTheDefender I tried a company in Peterborough that are retrofitting "add blue" to exhaust but can only do it to the 2.2 puma and not 2.4, the only other option is a tdci swap for a bmw engine at around 7k. Maybe move out of London to the Essex countryside
