I liked how the movement was after you jointed the follow cam to the player model. It was a bit rigid, but maybe with some adjustment, It could look, and more likely make the player feel like they're in the state of the game. Also, once again, another awesome series I'll be watching for the next few months! Thanks, Virtus.

A good professional practice for true first person cameras is after moving the camera to the correct position, go to the skeletal mesh of your character. If your character has a separate mesh for the head, create a transparent material and change the head material to transparent. This prevents camera issues that could arise for some people. This only applies for a character with separate head materials, which for high quality characters this tends to be possible.

How do I keep the player from looking through walls? The true first person camera doesn't want to collide properly, and when you get too close to a wall, you can see through the other side, and other players can see your gun clipping through the wall. How do I fix that?
@Ackrill4 жыл бұрын
Had the same problem, i think the solution is go to CapsuleComponent, find "Shape -> Capsule Radius" and increase the number a little bit. Character collider will become bigger, and you will stop before walls, so camera will not clip.

Not so bad of a tutorial very enjoyable. I was stuck on the rotation part but I resolved it quickly. I noticed before adding the yaw rotation the bobble head effect when moving. Assumed I did something wrong lol. So I added the yaw rotation and noticed it was gone. I assume because we didn't have yaw rotation the game tried to do up down left right all in one motion thus giving the bouncing around camera head view. Thanks for sharing I look forward to learning much more. This is the first time touching unreal engine and so far im enjoying it.

When you select your Project, in the lower left hand side will be Select Version. From there, you can add it to your 4.17 project using 4.16 files.
