Lambswool mitt or one of the newer microfibre ‘bobble’ mitts, for the contact wash?
@cleanandshinyuk3 ай бұрын
It's personal preference, however if you're making a first choice we'd recommend a microfibre mitt or pad.

@@cleanandshinyuk Thanks. 👍

I’m anti-mitt, because it encourages the user to keep using the same pressure points of mitt, which rapidly picks up abrasive particles.
@christianpratt3 ай бұрын
@@GT380man Good point. (I tend to use my mitt more like a cloth, constantly shifting my grip as I move it, to avoid creating pressure points.)
@cleanandshinyuk3 ай бұрын
@@GT380man If your pre-wash is successful there won't be any abrasive particles to pick up 💦👌🏻

What I hear is don't bother with PPF. Also I wouldn't pressure wash an engine. I don't snow foam so wash from the top brown by hand. I do spray the wheels with just water from a hose, just to loosen off surface dirt before I start.

PPF is mental, same cost as a front end respray. Should be cheap as chips.

Don't know if it qualifies as a myth, but would be curious to get his opinion on using deionized water for washing - does it help or not.
@9WERKSTV3 ай бұрын
Like that!
@christianpratt3 ай бұрын
I can tell you already that if you finish the wash by rinsing the car with filtered (deionised) water (mains pressure - you’re simply displacing the harder water already on the surfaces), it really takes the stress out of drying the car! Ask me how I know… 😃
@oliverradcliffe79743 ай бұрын
100 percent it's great. I wash my car with normal water but plug in a DI for final rinse. Have a black car and it does make a difference.
@GT380man3 ай бұрын
It’s helpful but alternatively, use a good quality silicone rubber-edged water blade to remove the water.

I love this channel but as a part time graphic designer, your 9 werks logo needs improvement.
@9WERKSTV3 ай бұрын
Wanna tweak it?
@davidhunternyc13 ай бұрын
@@9WERKSTV Thanks for not being offended. There are great logos. Nike, Apple, McDonald's, Rolex, & FedEx to name a few. Simplicity is key. Take out the unnecessary. Hmm... I've got the idea. It simply takes forever to make a pixel perfect vector logo without flaws whatsoever. I don't know if I want to spend the time. Let me think about it.
@magnuswf3 ай бұрын
Now, I'm just asking as someone with no experience whatsoever when it comes to graphic design, but how is his logo not simple? If I had to suggest something on the current logo, I'd sharpen the edges of the 9 so it matches the "Werks" in style. Apart from that I like it because it includes the 9 and Werks in the shape of a "Porsche shield"-ish shape. :)
@911aircooled53 ай бұрын
@@magnuswf Agree mate, I think the shield is great, and simple. Leave it as is Lee.
@julian987r43 ай бұрын
@@davidhunternyc1well you can’t just criticise and offer no solution for how to improve it. It’s already a very simple design/lock up, and is well considered to work large to tiny (eg channel icon on mobile). It has a good nod to the main Porsche logo.

I am sorry but the information on this video isn't correct...... PPF these days does not yellow, and won't peel if it's correctly fitted.and if you do have the car protected for 10 years that's very good value, ppf doesn't get stickier overtime, ppf is really the only true paint protection to stop stone chips and scuffs.
