Ordered a Mach E GT and was on the forums every single day, while waiting on my order I found out about the GV70 and fell in love with it. Still just as excited to see Mach E GT reviews as I was before I ever found my GV70. Super excited Ford is taking on this segment vs Tesla Model Y since no one else is doing it. I loved the Mach E (rented one on Turo for a day) compared to a Model Y, just seemed so much more like a 'real' car. I hate to say it that way, but back to back driving with a Model Y kind of showed how poorly they're put together. Not to beat a dead horse on the Tesla quality discussion. The Mach E also feels a lot like a car and not an SUV or CUV. Coming from only having cars in the past and not SUV's I really liked that part of it.
@jeffs60903 жыл бұрын
The GV70 is phenomenal! It's what I was going to get, but they didn't come in soon enough. I've driven both engines since they've been in dealerships, and both are great! I've talked to enough Tesla drivers to know how bad their customer service is that I won't consider one. I test drove a Mach E about 6 months ago but didn't like the price. Now they're all backordered regardless. With how big the batteries are, I think the charging infrastructure is a moot point. At 260miles of range, you cover 99% of the daily commuters and can charge at home. The rare road trip a couple times a year shouldn't be a deciding factor when it will almost never come up.

@@1Raunchy🤔 People have these things called ears - two of them actually. and people buy sports cars and modify the mufflers so they sounds loud to be cool and show others they are cool. It's another thing to rip up and down Toronto streets at 12am going bruuuuuuuuppppppp because they just have to show how cool they are. I'd definitely go with the Model Y as well. Ford has done a pretty good job with the Mach-E, but it still has many shortcomings. My primary issue with the Mach-E is its charging curve.... It's bad. Really bad. It's advertised as peaking at 150kW, which is true, but that peak only happens for a very short duration until it throttles down to 100kW. What's worse is that it throttles to just 11kW once it hits 80% SoC. That can be a real issue if one needs let's say a 90% SoC in order to reach their destination. Ford said they will release software updates to fix the charging curve. Even if they do, the MY still peaks at 250kW, so its still a better car for road trips.

A pony car, by definition, is a 2 door low-slung highly stylized coupe or convertible with a long hood and short deck.* A four-door crossover SUV (The Mach E) with the Mustang name slapped on in the name of sales is a slap to the face of nearly 60 years of heritage. Ah yes, all of the things we love about the mustang- a two door V8 RWD muscle car with a legendary exhaust note. Oh wait... they just slapped a badge and some lights on an electric SUV? Crazy.
@olegprozapas83183 жыл бұрын
I mean several reviewers have praised the handling "for an suv" and its definitely powerful/fast enough, it absolutely is worth the name just no exhaust note bc well electric, obviously not exactly the same, they just wanted it to be cool
@snapchord3 жыл бұрын
@The Pug That Jumped Over The Moon EXACTLY it’s an suv. Electric is not the problem but the fact that they’ve jumped on the suv bandwagon and tried to make a Tesla clone is just sad. It may be a cool car but why did they have to sully the mustang name🙁. The first electric mustang should’ve been a mustang not a Tesla suv.
@rightwingsafetysquad98723 жыл бұрын
I'd wager the Mach-E will out perform any Mustang prior to the S550 in any metric. All previous Mustangs handled poorly for a car.
@olegprozapas83183 жыл бұрын
@@snapchord honestly don't think they really made it like a tesla at all, don't think they could've done that much better with an suv and a ton of people would be mad at a electric mustang too bc thats not the heritage of the car, they honestly were either gonna upset no one and make a car no one cared about really or do something bold and honestly I think its pretty good just expensive

@@vroooom Mustang has no top end and gets walked by any 300 hp car On the highway. Car traps 100 mph in the quarter. Gets annihilated by any Tesla that has ever been released on the highway as well. Very disappointed in the Mach e gt real world performance figures coming from a Tesla owner. Stinger with just a tune would smash the gt from a stop. Waiting on the ev6 gt to consider an suv.

Model 3 Performance definitely makes it easy to drive like a maniac. Track mode let's you set up for burnouts, donuts, drifting... Ford can do the same via software update if they choose to.

Model 3 Performance owner, I absolutely drive it crazier than any ICE vehicle… that’s what makes electric stealth worth it. I canyon carved at “illegal” speeds then snuck past a hidden speed trap at the end with regen braking… the cop pulled the loud full exhaust STI trying its best to keep up that they heard from miles away… plus M3P “Track Mode” donuts and burnouts in parking lots where you only hear tires is disconcerting AF for people watching. The instant speed and stealth antics is the MAIN attraction for electric performance - Ford needs to make a Track Mode like the the M3P

Yes I drive it faster. Nobody complains about the exhaust sound. Its just so easy and doesn't feel like its going to break the car. Its much cheaper vs gas at full throttle. Plus I know I am regenerating some of that energy when I let off the throttle.

He actually paid $10 for a 17% increase. That's horrendous, and will only get worse as gas/petro vehicles are removed from roads. A 260 mile range may not be terrible for everyday driving, but it severely limits cross country road trips. Everyone loves the idea of a green future, but nobody considers how to build and power an energy grid capable of charging hundreds of millions of these vehicles. When the 10 year agenda includes limiting private ownership of large purchases and discouraging travel, I guess 260 mile ranges should be the least of our worries.
