Thank goodness someone said this. My daughter is neurodivergent and has just as much “issues” as anyone else. Honestly, this is the absolute worst podcast I’ve ever heard. The main narrator is absolutely horrible at storytelling and not and I mean not well researched at all.

She specified several times he had to be committed for mental illness and that is not indicative of Autism. My daughter is low on the spectrum and I found that they handled this very well and showed great compassion.

You're trying to explain the mental illness thing, but don't understand any of it really. You both keep asking why and blah blah blah... So many aspects can go into mental illness. He was doomed from the start 😞 because of his parents actions, he was never able to have a real childhood and therefore never taught how to grow up properly. An injustice, that we have no control over. A vicious and seemingly endless cycle. He has a childlike mindset, the random weirdness of all of it, taking the watch and keeping it, is most likely because he doesn't know what to do with it or how to not do weird things. Kids are weird! (In good and bad ways, but through no fault of their own). I'm definitely not advocating for his innocence, merely bringing another perspective that he didn't enjoy it or anything like that. Emotions take over intelligence, and when you've never been properly taught what emotions are and how to deal with em, you just don't know and won't know that it's a problem, fully. He didn't think ahead when making decisions after the fact, one track mind and no "real" conductor around. Life for humans is incredibly tragic. It's absurd and irrational, but, order can come from chaos. It just takes awhile! I hope one day that humans will achieve a complete understanding of ourselves, if we're allowed that opportunity. Remember, there is no such thing as free will.

I’m sorry but when your kids still live with you especially if they have a mental health issue or disability. The parents need to know their friends regardless of their child’s age! A parent can pick up things on friends that even a 19 or 20 yr old isn’t capable of picking up on. Add a disability to the scene, that makes the 19 or 20 yr a bigger target to certain friends. Another reason it’s important for the parents to know the friends personally. I don’t know of our kids ever get to a stage as a parent we can say they are safe now a days! Not in this world! I’ve found it’s easier to worry about our kids when they’re much younger than when they become young adults. As a parent you hands are tied much tighter at that point! SMDH NATIONAL MISSING AND EXPLOITED CHILDREN! Makes me wonder if Andrew was using drugs and was hallucinating and that’s why he was jealous. Why Evette didn’t go to the police herself is mind blowing. I’m happy Evette had to clear her conscious otherwise they may have never found Steven. This story is getting more despicable as it goes along! Evette didn’t want to believe it! I’m sure at this point Evette is scared to death of Andrew and rightfully so! What they did to Steven was so Grotesque! But I have no doubt Andrew and Evette will both be going to Prison and rightfully so! Evette had many opportunities to go to the police if she wanted any protection or any hope of not getting charged with the crimes!

Americans say aspergers so stupidly 😂 it’s AS-PURGERS not ass-burgers 😂 Also, the medication for Asperger’s I can confirm is the worst medication mixes. One day I’ll be falling asleep in the middle of class and the next day I won’t get any sleep for a week. I couldn’t concentrate or stay awake and i was severely depressed and was not social. When I was 15 I hid all my medication and went cold turkey. A week later I told my dad what I did. Ever since I ditched my medication everything became si much more normalised. Social interaction is easier, my sleep patterns are normal, I can concentrate and fixate, and my mental health improved. F**k the meds
