I can't see Dusty going to GC, or anywhere else. It doesn't really benefit anyone. He wouldn't be a top 10 player at GC, maybe they could try and leveridge the marketing angle but he avoids the media as much as humanly possible. And what is in it for Dusty? An extra $400k paycheque? I don't think he would be hard up for money, GC are also hardly banging down the premiership door, and even if they were, he has had enough success to satisfy anyone, there is nothing left to prove. So who even wants the deal?

I reckon you massively understated Garcia's value to west coast. He's a perfect fit for one of our biggest weaknesses: great defensive midfielder who also is an accumulator. He'd likely cost us nothing and walks right in and makes our ball carriers look better as well as potentially adding a regular 30 plus possession player which we've desperate been missing

St.kilda could be interested in Matthew Kennedy. Silvagni recruited him at the Giants, then traded for him at Carlton, now Silvagni is at St.kilda and Kennedy is on the outter at the blues...

I was really surprised when North delisted Curtis Taylor. If the saints can pick him up, that would be a really good boost for them. He can play on the wing, forward, half back all really well. This would be a steal if the saints can get him. And it would also cost nothing

Clubs like North and Eagle swould really benefit from some guys that have been delisted with good leadership. I remember the Melbourne team of 2000 was a classic moneyball side with guys from other clubs that turned into good players at Melbourne

Adelaide may be worth a look at Parfitt also. Mids are either; Dawson, Rankine, young and inexperienced, old accumulators or have serious questions to ask. Parfitt may be a good inbetweener of age and games as a delisted player

Owies worth pick 30 something. Hes a hard no for the Eagles, we have Champion this year NGA, Walley and Evans as NGA there next year too along with a bunch of small forwards already on the list. Be great to land Dev and 1 other mid, id have Carroll as low priority but he would do if we couldnt get someone better.

Eagles thought they would get Devon Robertson but he tried to stay on and win a flag at Brisbane. So he wanted to come last year (except for the incentive of a flag) and the Eagles wanted him. But will they want him this year?

Jaxon prior to the dons apparently due to Essendon losing Jake Kelly and Dyson Heppell and want to move nic Martin up the ground. Essendon need half back depth
@ShadowLight-kn7rlКүн бұрын
Owies is a hard one to paint the value on. He's not worth a pick 22 and at face value I'd say a mid-late 2nd rounder would surfice for getting Owies in. I hope North do pursue Owies but only deal a trade after the Houston situation is resolved. Future 2nd from North feels like a punt worth making and if North don't perform well in 2025 then Carlton will get a bargain at best. At worst Carlton can get a fair price.
@lachlangaming7866Күн бұрын
Rotham could be a great pickup for Essendon considering Heppell retired but even if we think he wouldn’t been a good fit or Laverde stays in the team we could trade him for another good player or even a pick so Essendon can get more skill for the future

I saw a fair few WC supporters not wanting Owies if it cost pick 22. I would think that would be a bargain for a team whos best three smalls this year were Cripps with 27 goals Ryan with 13 and Petruccelle with 11. Obviously he is in a different team but he isn't the kind of guy who relies on plenty of supply, he barely averaged over 10 possessions a game to consistently hit the scoreboard.

@@haydenpeach6964 I get the sentiment, but what do you think the odds are of getting a guy as good as Owies at pick 22 is? Check the last 10 players taken at 22 and I bet there is a lot of sub par footballers there. Edit: I just checked the last 10, the list is pretty ordinary.
@stallon720Күн бұрын
@@spindoctor6385 Youre overrating Owies a bit. Doesnt take a particularly good small forward to kick 30 goals in Carltons forward line roving to Curnow and McKay. Id value Owies at pick 30 something. The fact he got told to look around doesnt sell him any either. The Eagles also have plenty of small forwards already on the lsit. We have an NGA small forward this year(Champion), and at least 1 maybe 2 more small forwards next year, one of them(Walley) looked very dangerous up forward in the u17 futures game yesterday. 100% not worth pick 30ish to the Eagles
@spindoctor6385Күн бұрын
@@stallon720 I think it is a misnomer to think that roving to Curnow and McKay makes it easy to kick goals, they have the ball most of the time. I think just arbitrarily rating Owies at thirty something or comparing him to an imagined future is the wrong way to think about it. He is a known quantity now, 33 goals in a season is very good for any small forward. He would improve the side immediately. So the question is whether or not you think that pick 22 is going to improve the side more. A quick look at the last 10 guys who were drafted at number 22 would suggest that you will struggle to get anyone close.
