Me: War is the most tanky in game, due to the multiple times that you can hit zero health if you constantly take damage. However, death is the most tanky outside of game. Evident by the fact that he’s been impelled by chaoseater and pulled the blade out, while War died in his game from being impelled. TM&M: Death specifically has the most overtly noted and thus presumably most well developed superhuman durability...though he can be cut, he does not bleed.

I have a few ideas regarding impalement resistance level. 1) War may be not at the peak of his power in DS1. 2) War was weakened by the battle with the Destroyer. 3) Watcher was draining War's powers and hurting him at that moment. 4) Armaggedon's blade may just be stronger than Chaoseater. 5) War allowed himself to die because otherwise Nex Sacramentum would have to continue. Not all of them may be correct and Death may still be better at taking swords to the chest than War at the peak.

War is the most badass out of the four riders. I mean, who else came close to beating a large demon's face with a railroad platform? Also, a few things i want to note: 1) War's arm. Reviving a horseman implies full physical reconstruction of the body. So it's strange that War got all his guts back after the Armageddon's blade but not his arm. It may be intentionally kept that way either by Concil to remind about the price of defiance or War himself to remind about the price of losing control. 2) In DS1 when War was brought before the Concil he acts like no time has passed. And yet in DS3 they squeezed a meeting with Fury before that. That raises the question: can the Concil erase memory or was it just a minor retcon?

No, only War had his Chaos form reunleashed by Samael, Fury was able to use it almost from the beginning. Why it hasn’t been asked, I don’t know. But after all this time either in game or by the developers themselves. After all that has past, why hasn’t it been explained just how 2 angels and a maker got their hands on all 7 seals. Surely the council with all the power and influence that they have...and the fact that they had the seals hidden, should have caught wind of what was going on even before the seals were broken. I really don’t understand if that was left out for a future game, or was it just forgotten about.
@RicardoPetinga2 жыл бұрын
Good point. Another thing I was kinda hoping for in this video was some sort of confirmation of who sent War to Earth since the 7th Seal had not been broken. It's not like he summoned himself. I mean, it seems obvious it was the Charred Council because they're the ones who'd have the power to do so, but maybe it wasn't. Also, are the Charred Council members those talking stone skulls we see or are they someone and somewhere else expressing themselves through them? I hope they tie up those loose ends in a forthcoming game.

Absolutely loved the video. I have been a fan of Darksiders for a very long time and I am eagerly waiting for Part4 (hopefully Strife's story and how his bonds would be severed from the Council) and part5 where the culmination of the story happens with the Horsemen clearing up all the races and bodies that stand in their way. Just imagine Death, War, Fury and Strife running towards an army like Ezio and his Assassins do in Brotherhood's trailer and the scene cuts to reveal the title of the 5th game (Darksiders: Apocalypse or Darksiders: Endgame lol). Awwww I was kinda hoping you'd bring up War's perception when it came to his siblings. Proof of his tactical mind being better than the others. Essentially War is shown throughout Genesis to be capable of noticing when Strife is clearly bothered by something. Even stating, "You look as though you've seen a ghost." at one point. Strife NEVER removes his helm, so I can only assume War is a MASTER at reading body language. Granted Strife being quieter is also a big tell to War, which just goes to show how well he knows Strife's tells. BUT EVEN IN THE NOVEL, he is shown to be highly perceptive with Death as well. For instance he seems to be fully aware of when Death is bullshitting/hiding something. Whether Death let something in his tone slip or War was again watching Death's body language is unclear. The only clear moments of anger(that War is witness to) coming up at three separate occasions. When War saves Death's sorry hide from the surprise attack of the bad guy in Heaven, when Death accidentally let info slip to enemy through Mortis(War actually seemed highly concerned given just how openly angry Death became), and when War kept pressing Death for more answers on the Ravaiim homeworld. Anyway....Death's tells aside from his anger slips out seem extremely hard for ANYONE to figure out and learn. But clearly War must've taken the time to do so. War clearly knew there was more to the Abominations than Death was letting due to Death's tendency to omit things and/or lie when discussing secrets(as evidenced when he addressed the Council with the reports of the Abomination Crisis and his refusal to divulge anything like the vault location) and because Death was taking things so personally. War must've dedicated a SHIT TON of eons to be able to figure that out with so little tells to go off of. I also recall a part where Death actually threatened to cripple War just to keep him away from Lilith. I don't think War relented at the threat. Death gave something away in that moment, something he rarely ever shows as a tell. Aside from his anger at War's persistence, War to me has to have caught on to more. Death's body language could definitely have been part of it. But what about his tone? Sure Death was shouting, but his tone beyond that is never explained. And given a HIGHLY MESSED UP theory I personally subscribe to in regards to the 'past' between Death and Lilith, what if Death let a moment of fear escape through his angered tone? Just enough for War to pick up on? Course he may have also used the venomous tone he has towards Lilith in the Darksiders 2 game. Hell maybe a mix of all three tones is present in this moment. Either way, War had to have picked up on it and maybe took note of Death's use of the word harlot when describing Lilith as well. It's a stretch as yeah everyone knows she a disloyal hoe, but Death may not use that term often. And when he does call someone that, surely if my theory(and thusly the theory shared by others in the fandom) is correct, then Death NEVER uses this word lightly. Or anything similar to the word harlot without good reason. That and remember how much War is actually questioning him, granted he doesn't question his leadership, but he does question his past at points. War clearly knew Death was hiding more secrets than he let on, and since War is the type of brother to not want his brothers to suffer, he asks Death without relent about his past in an attempt to help Death get it out to at least someone. Strife did so and seemingly felt a bit better after the fact, so perhaps War thought he was helping by asking since he knew Death wasn't just going to outright tell him on his own accord without the push and anger to force it out. I also believe War knew full well Death was lying to him about the blood. But chose not to question it because he trusted his elder sibling THAT MUCH. It cost him his life, but he doesn't seem to care beyond failing to live long enough for Death to complete his plan. I doubt he's mad about failing to protect blood he knew was fake, he's just feigning that part so Death won't notice. The reason he's mad at himself, is because he died and gave Death more pain through that. Why? Because War has known Death long enough to know just how badly guilt eats at him. War knows Death is guilt ridden enough at the plan getting him killed and doesn't want him to suffer more, so he keeps his mouth shut about knowing the truth. At least it was his intent to protect Death from further torment and agony by allowing Death to keep the lies going. Hell the real reason War stood by Death when the Council threatened his end was because of that ULTIMATE familial trust and bond. War didn't care that the plan got him killed, all he cared about was his brother and that he was already suffering enough and he didn't want it to happen anymore. Hence the ultimatum he gave the Council. Even though War's unwavering trust and FAMILIAL love to Death inadvertently caused Death even more pain and guilt because Death is just THAT BAD at managing guilt and constantly guilt trips himself over even minor things. Just that fact that War was doing this to TRY and help spare Death's psyche just goes to show just how loyal of a family member he truly is. For anyone who made it this far, I am SO SORRY. I've been holding onto this for SO LONG you have no idea.

Well, war was seen as quite a heartful passionate individual. So these nuances of the character youve picked on seem accurate. But from the dialogue war had with strife in eden, im feeling that wars got some secrets of his own too. One fishy thing is that his massive bloodlust that he gotta keep in check and his strong sense of honor and justice dont go together. If it did, he wouldve cast away chaoseater to prevent him from being manipulated by the blades posession On the other hand The issue is that the limits of what death is capable of and its implications on the occurring events are quite bizzarre. Given what he is capable of, Guilt for him may not be what you think. That guy has wrought far too much shit to end up with simple guilt. Other than being a godlike warrior, that guy is a mage, a necromancer and a maker of the highest regard, good enough to be considered on peak strategic decisions. All of his capabilities combined with the die hard dedication to protecting his siblings make him quite a riddle for me. In the book, death mightve caused wars demise just because he knew how to resurrect him. In ds2, he wanted to buy war's freedom by resurrecting humanity, by sacrifing the nephilim souls which he saved unbeknownst to the others. And that was just 1 of his secrets with crowfather. And still after crowfather was slain by death, that old one had enough of a bond to stick with him to the precipice of corruption. That shows deep bonds, forged on what, we dont know yet. Who knows what other plots death has hatched with whoever else in this vast universe. Too much backstories. I shudder to think of the secrets death might have with the keeper of the abyss. Another guy is strife. He is so unique that this guy keeps tabs on all notable events involving the council, measuring the involvement of each side, their intent and then manipulating events in his own taste. A bargain there, a bribe here, a wee bit if misdirection and a small lie far over god knows where. I bet strife saw the whole thing and the councils shenanigans coming and prepped for it half a millenia ago. That guy frikkn prepped for his guns to land in his brothers hands in different periods of time in different worlds. I bet strife had something to do with samaels downfall. I hope vigil games takes the time to flesh out each backstory and each universe. We are yet to see the major heads of the white city and the angel equivalent to the power of lucifer. Yet to see the seraphim. Yet to see the secret machinations of the white city. We are yet to see the full breadth of samaels omniscience or his plans for his "chesspieces". He will surely be among the endbosses. But im waiting honestly to see death in all his glory when he leads the horsemen against all of creation, and see what the abyss has in store for what remains.

I believe the animus machine when it created the corruption, accidentally made it sentient so it chose a champion or an avatar if you will and it’s most fitting choice would be absalom so I believe it found a way to reanimate it using its unfathomable and efficient power to search through the universe, found a way to reanimate absalom as its avatar in order to protect it well as they knew no living person could be used because they can fight back and knowing any kind of pestilence it is somewhat cowardly in nature if you thought it to have sentience, also it would have been the strongest person it could possibly bring back as they’re not only mortal but also dead, so he can’t fight back and he is capable of being killed again, however i also believe it was because he had a similar goal, to wreak havoc in revenge of their fallen brothers so it took advantage of it in the way we know Lilith does, persuasion, to basically make a deal with absalom to be used as the avatar of the corruption as well as a fearsome warden to fight against people who claim to destroy it, so the idea is that they can trust him because they have a common goal, so they gave him extra abilities because of their ruthless efficiency with raw power, skill and the abilities given to him by the corruption, making what is effectively the most deadly super pestilence ever made which as you can see did wonders, although I don’t believe Lilith knew about the use of an avatar as she kinda just let it go do it’s thing wherever it wants in whatever way it wants because she knows that no matter who it chooses, they’ll either agree with her ideas or be too weak to attempt to overthrow her, and luckily for her, it’s both, but just because he’s inferior to Lilith doesn’t mean he’s weak, because he is a fearsome foe to be sure but my god, what a deadly pair

1:50 "fury being the most magically gifted" yea right, DS3 ruined that
@torunsmok58903 жыл бұрын
Haven't gotten around to ds3 yet but isn't death one helluva mage if you choose to spec him that way too? Even in lore, he CREATED the grand abominations. That took some degree of magical craftsmanship at least... Death is the most powerful in every regard tbh which makes sense. The concepts all the others represent all lead to Death.

Was enamoured by the ending of darksiders and have been waiting for 13 damn years to get to the point at the end of darksiders 1 and continue the narrative, but it feels like that won’t happen any time soon. Lame
