I meant to mention that in my side-by-side comparisons with the Sharkbyte VRX, I had the TrueRC OCP omni antennas on the top SMA connectors. So the only difference in that test was the patch antennas.

Nice comparison to Shark Byte receiver. I like the explanation of beam width too

I wish HDZero had moulded an indentation into the rail system so that antennas manufacturers could incorporate an opposing bump into their designs so antennas clip into the rail instead of relying on friction. I would find loose antennas really frustrating. I did comment that on one of the goggle design threads but not sure if it got noticed.
@MrLaserpowered2 жыл бұрын
That's exactly what I was thinking when I saw that. Another option would be a some sort of spring clip to add friction since the bump isn't in the production rxs.

Just purchased the HDzero VRX and a Mobula7 HDzero quad. The biggest problem so far is the VTX keeps shutting down and cutting in and out if you leave the quad powered up and sitting for more than a few seconds. This sucker gets hot enough to fry an egg. I am going to look into reducing MW to 25 when not armed or on s switch.
@ATXAirborne2 жыл бұрын
If you’re going to be sitting for a while before takeoff, I’d recommend either enabling low power mode in the VTX menu, or using pit mode before takeoff. To go into pit mode, hold the sticks down and toward the outside of the radio for a moment. To exit pit mode and go back to full power, move the sticks down and toward the inside for a moment.

great review! do you have any experience with these vs the x air mk 2 (the singular patch)? i’m looking at these for a more general, everyday use case, and wondering if the x2 air has better performance that’s worth the trading of the even smaller profile of the x air mk

These will fit to the HDZero Goggles for sure

Great video - solid information. I think that these antennas look really goofy though, that is unfortunate as that should have nothing to do with anything, but we all know we are people and we like cool things... All that said I am still going to be on the sidelines as the Digital tech goes through this current cycle of upgrades, etc... I really do like HD Zero as a company though as I have read and seen many great things that they do like show up to events, apparently they are super responsive to customer needs and have made many changes and additions to their goggles as a result. So tough choices, recently I saw a video of the FatShark/Walksnail tech. and the video image quality was completely good enough... but it does not seem like this is a consistent result with everyone just yet... so hang on!

i am new. what should i get RHCP or LHCP? i just got a Happymodel Mobula6 HDZero 1S 65mm Micro Whoop and dont know what it use.
@ATXAirborne2 жыл бұрын
I’d recommend RHCP. The whoop antenna is not polarized, so either is fine, but RHCP is the standard for HDZero so if you ever get a bnf drone or receiver with polarized antennas, they’d be RHCP.
@gnafin2 жыл бұрын
@@ATXAirborne Thank you for the information. I was wondering if they had a default standard.

Also, the vtx and camera costs between $100.00 and $150.00 which is way to much. Hopefully as more people get on board, the prices will come down!
