The noise sounds like a cross between the Concorde and the 767. That’s what low-bypass engines sound like, they’re higher in pitch than high-bypass engines due to their smaller size but they also don’t have that screeching loud sound like an afterburning turbojet.

These MD-88's are the LOUDEST planes that go to my capital airport which go over my house almost all the time. One time one of those took off and it sounded like a fighter jet HOWLING over. It made that exact howling sound in the video.

Awesome! The MD-80 is such an amazing aircraft!! Thanks for watching and commenting! :D

Such a nice aircraft. They're loud, but you should have heard non-hush kitted 727s, 737-200s and DC-9s. Those bad boys were much louder. They would crackle like a rocket and set off car alarms! I'm going to miss the Mad Dog.

It's always the tailed-engine passenger planes that sound the best and the loudest! Best sound in the universe! Thanks for sharing! 🛫🛫

i really miss those old plane from delta. i remember it was fun when the maddog was taking off
@Porsche4life2 жыл бұрын
@@gabrielflorentino6080 it was. When I lived in Atlanta and if you were lucky and outside the main terminal drop off area the md-88s sound would resonate off the parking garages and it would be 2x louder. Sounded like fighter jets when you had them take off on both side of the airport at the same time.

Delta has the best takeoff sound.

Love the roar from those JT8Ds, quick question about the Zoom H1. Does it record at the same time you press record on your camera or do you have to edit the sound in when you edit the video? I'm going to be purchasing one soon along with a brand new Canon 800D. Thanks!
@ilikerio6 жыл бұрын
The JT8D's sound amazing!! All of our audio is synchronized manually in post-processing, although there may be ways to sync with the camera using a cable so they start recording simultaneously (we haven't looked into it ourselves). It's a great mic though, and that's a great camera!

It’s a real shame that the only t tail aircraft that will be left after the mad dog retires are regional jets. McDonnel Douglas created such a reliable airplane.
@markvolpe23054 жыл бұрын
The 717's are also staying with Delta afaik.
@Major_Tom984 жыл бұрын
Mark Volpe I believe they are, not sure for how long though.

DC-9's are such workhorses! The older DC-9 family members will be missed, but it's nice that the last derivative (MD-95 aka 717) will stick around for a while.

@ilikerio8 жыл бұрын
The Matt channel We filmed from a little further back from the fence so the footage would have a clear shot (instead of seeing the fence in the video). We'll do our best to be at FLL on the 15th for the Emirates inaugural!

Horizon Productions SFL Oh when do you film again I would love to see you guys there I love jet planes but sadly don't get the time to recored them because i'm still a teen so I can't drive but it would be my dream to plane spot like you guys

Personally, I have been going plane-spotting since 2011 (when I was 12). When my friends started joining me (we're all the same age), we had parents take us. Only recently we've started to go spotting on our own. ~ BJG
