this was fantastic- i've always loved yoshi, and he looks sicker than ever with that demon armor. I had the craziest realization while watching this though- his armor has a hole in the center of it's gut, and right out the back through the spine too, and i thought it was just aesthetic until i remembered yoshi using himself as a pincushion- so the armor's functionally the most Yoshimitsu armor too!

This helped me so much ! I was struggling to get damage out of lows, and your 3K combo helped me punish those high/unsafe low and strike fear in my opponents. Your tips were valuable I got a better grip on the flow of fights

Great guide 👍 Just a minor thing 10:00 His Manji Carb Fist isn’t a just frame in this game. This is the reason why it’s so easy to do and doesn’t offer a great reward. (If it was a true just frame, your character would glow white/blue as well). It’s still a great poke, wall combo extender and „get off me!“-move

Committing Seppuku in indian stance actually might be viable in certain circumstances, it gives you an ENTIRE BAR OF METER and if done correctly at proper spacing the opponent has to risk eating an unblockable that does 40% life by pressing A afterwards if they want to punish you, of course you hurt yourself quite a bit to get it but its something to consider

There is a sick setup you can do if you want to 0 - 100 suicide with soul charge. Soul charge, go into manji style and do his k A+B. He goes up into the air and you can just dash forward and suicide immediately. You will land ontop of your opponent if you do it fast enough. It's literally an option they cant get out of. I used to do it in SC4 (but it didnt evem require any special soul charge) also the setup was different but the end result was always a guaranteed kill.

Just so you know, the combo at 8:45 isn't a natural combo. The enemy can air control to the side out of the B follow up after 3B. Might also be the cases for some of the other combo starters, but I haven't checked yet.

Not sure how many people figured this out but after you land yoshi's air grab from dragonfly you can do a taunt when he lands his backflip after he slams the opponent down. I think you gotta just frame it though. But if you miss you'll trip and fall.

Just to point out, Yoshi can indeed get a followup after 2A:B, that's his B:A JF afterwards, but to my knowledge not only is this PRETTY difficult to do consistently because it's a Just Frame, but you also need to crouch cancel and do it pretty much immediately. I've seen it done on stream a few times and if you do land the JF in a fast enough time, I believe it's a true combo.

12:00 you can go for the crumple stun mid and get 3[B] and still go back into dragonfly for a mixup

I main Yoshimitsu. For people spamming normal mashing online, you can do AA, Back A (steals meter) or Forward K to counter most spammers online. His AAA is very fast also.

An important factor you forgot to mention is Yoshimitsu's Seppuku Harakiri; where you Indian Stance > Seppuku > Harakiri. Basically Indian Stance to double right trigger. I say its worth mentioning because its a guaranteed two bar soul gauge.

In his indian stance, committing seppuku gains a full bar. Kind of a hilarious way to start a match to style on an opponent really.

A very fancy (albeit somewhat lower damage combo) is somersault, dive towards enemy, donkey kick to seppuku but the timing is very strict and it doesn't do nearly as much damage as 5

66K is not plus on block it's pretty negative. It's a move that can hit quiet deep but I think even at its deepest it's still probably -6 or something, it feels punishable at point blank. For a neutral on block move to use in the neutral I like 66B.

Try using reversal edge after blocking Yoshi's 3B, His 3BB is not a true block sting so your RE will parry the second part of it and it will beat all his options from his flying stance (you need to hold it a bit to beat his B or he will interrupt your RE. Yoshi can sidestep after his 3B and punish your RE and he can cancel his flying stance by blockin but afaik all characters BE's are safe on b lock. Forcing him to go for defensive options during his mixup is a great start at beating him This does not apply if Yoshi is soul charged, since his flying stance B will wreck your face Taki next?
