You know it’s bad when NewsMax and Fox turn on you. Let’s do some math here. Kristi is 52, she claims she’s been involved in “policy” for almost thirty years. So that would mean she started her political career at age 22…but here’s the thing, she was 22 in 1993, at that age she was in college and the following year dropped out when she gave birth to her daughter and also to run the family farm after her dad passed away the same year. She eventually finished her degree by attending mostly online courses. She didn’t begin her political career until 2007 when she was elected to South Dakota’s House of Representatives. So she was 36 at that point, so Kristi once again you aren’t being honest.

@OliveDasi7 ай бұрын
@@catherinepraus8635 Here is an abridged version. Since her mistreatment of the Tribes go back way before this. And it includes why we can't just "Vote her out." So like I said, this is a pattern of her behavior - not a highlight of it. She's been historically awful and currently is banned from over 17% of South Dakota because it is Tribal Lands. This happened a few weeks ago when she stated, "We’ve got some tribal leaders that I believe are personally benefiting from cartels being there and that’s why they attack me every day" she went on to imply that the Tribes were keeping the Cartels safe. For the record, Tribal lands, especially the Pine Ridge Reservation in Oglala Lakota county, are some of the poorest areas in the country. They have had suicide warnings and rampant crime - including MMIW/C. They asked for assistance in this, but Noem requested an audit of their funding before helping. This being after years of requests. As a result every Tribe has banned her from their lands -over 17% of South Dakota. In December of 2022 we were struck with a terrible blizzard which had feet of snow and -50/60 degree wind chills. This persisted for two weeks. The Pine Ridge Reservation ran out of kerosine for heat and food. Some burned furniture. Six people died including a 12 year old with asthma. She waited days to call up the National Guard to help them. Days. Previously she "sold them out" by taking a $1 million private donation to deploy them to the southern border. In 2020 she had an amazing year during the pandemic, as she sued the Tribes to keep their land open with a federal lawsuit as some were over 3 hours from and ICU. She also sued the voters of South Dakota after recreational marijuana passed by 54.1% - after we won to overturn the election. It was successfully overturned in November of 2021. Or how she has taken millions and millions to advertise that "South Dakota is hiring" and then shut down every Job Service except one (or two) in the state - the locations which help people - especially those from the military and disabled - find jobs. I literally could go on and on and on all day. But here is a fun fact. She barely won in 2018 - her first term against a Democrat in a heavily red state. She won by a larger margin in 2022 because many people moved out of South Dakota after her 4 years of BS and pandemic "handling." Many others moved in because they liked it. However, the only thing keeping her afloat in this state is the R by her name. She is deeply unpopular (polls are BS in South Dakota) by many - including our state legislators. They are fiscal conservatives and she spends money on every extravagant thing like you would not imagine. There have been investigations, by the state, into her use of the private state plane (which she had to buy a brand new one), her use of highway patrol as she needs two around her as she travels like she's the president, and other uses. Recently a good article came out in the local paper, the Argus Leader (through our independent journalist group "The South Dakota Searchlight") titled "Can South Dakota afford to keep Kristi Noem on its payroll?". It highlights many things that she has wasted money on. This is already extremely long, but I will say that more people need to pay attention to small states and governors in general. Just think how many absolutely minor Trump stories you hear a day that do not matter in the slightest and this has been a systemic issue. It's an absolute infuriating joke. Many laws or ideas that people find horrific start here. On the same side of the coin, people have to start investing resources to stop this horrific cycle. The reason that Kristi Noem has been so successful - besides the R - is that the SDDEMS are so inept. (FFS they didn't promote themselves at the state fair two years ago, but Biden?!). But also they get zero funding. If we continue to ignore people out here, the isolation will continue. People who are in bubbles will only believe what they hear in them - causing a once-flimsy bubble to be made of steel. Writing this area off as a lost cause is the worst thing that one could do - especially for our Tribes.

I came here for the express purpose of repeating those two lines if I didn't see them somewhere near the top of the list, which is now some 4k comments long. What's it been, about a week now since the first Cricket story broke, and a handful of comedy hosts have had this material to work with every day? Classic. And there actually has been new detail every couple of days. The footage of her humiliating herself on all these talk shows over lying about meeting with Kim is priceless. And the last lines of the Cricket story, which I've only seen in one or two places so far: Apparently she had just finished off the goat when she noticed that there was a roadwork crew standing nearby watching this whole thing. And then the school bus drive up. And stopped. And disgorged the Noem daughters. One of whom greeted her mother with "Hey, Mom, where's Cricket?" I just lost it at that point. I can't stop laughing out loud about this. Out of the blue, apropos of nothing at all, I'll just hear "Mom, where's Cricket?" and I'm losing it again. ... Maybe that new ending came out too late in the day to make it into most of these monologues - ?
