He and others did not favor the border bill. Despite being called bipartisan; it really wasn’t. True that one or two or a very few republicans helped with the bill, but by large it was not liked by almost all of the republicans. Two reasons come to mind why. One reason was it still allowed around 2 million migrants a year to come in. That’s not actually closing the border and getting to as near zero as possible. Second reason the repubs didn’t vote to pass the bill was that it would severely limit Trump (or whoever became president) to reduce the numbers in that presidents new term. So, those are 2 reasons Trump, other repubs and lots of voters did not like the bill.

It's illogical. What else do you maintain by leaving it wide open to all influences? You can be the most giving person in your community but if you left your front door open all the time and allowed people who need help to come in at will, everyone would think you're a little weird, not to mention you're house would be a mess, food gone, no stability etc. Even the homeless shelter has a check in process every night. Liberal open boarder proponents aren't really concerned with helping people in need. If they really are, why don't they form an organization where they can do that? Why take from money forced from taxpayers?
