Four years ago I was living in an itty bitty apartment, "sleeping" on the couch with a knife near by because the neighbors who knew I called the police on them for robbing people were hanging around outside my door. I was on an income driven repayment plan that was causing my student loan debt to go up every month because the payment was lower than the interest accrued, and I was working with a debt management company to pay off my credit cards and keep the debt collectors at bay. Now I have no credit card debt and my student loans are on a standard repayment plan to which I add an extra $100/month to pay it down faster, and I rent a three bedroom house so that I have an office I can work in instead of being parked at the kitchen table. The rent is pretty high but my employer has been able to provide raises every year so I'm fortunate to be able to afford it. So yeah, I'd say I'm better off now than I was four years ago.

At Augusta, and most likely all country club golf courses, the players have individual private locker rooms with private showers.
