My mother works with elderly people, and has had almost a dozen clients die of COVID in the last 2 months. Pls pls pls dont let this happen anywhere else. The problem is the virus is spread through the air -- so plexiglass is insufficient. At the very least, it should be held in a venue with an effective filtration system, and with masks for everyone, including the debaters. What they really need to do is hold the town hall remotely (with Pence at home, following a basic obligation to avoid the possibility of contaminating others). His presence at the debate despite his obligation to quarantine just helps make the case that this administration has miserably failed its responsibility to stem the pandemic with basic public health and safety measures.

In New York the ballots also go in two envelopes. The ballot goes into an inner envelope and then the inner envelope goes into the second larger outer envelope. Unlike Pennsylvania, you seal and sign the back of the inner envelope. You need to provide a stamp. Make sure to seal both envelopes. I read that the governor has signed the bill for drop boxes but I haven’t seen any in my neighborhood. Our last day early voting is Sunday before the election. So, no early voting on the Monday before Election Day. I went ahead and voted absentee, but I hand delivered it to the State Board of Elections office. New York is not a state trying to suppress votes, but I am glad so many people are speaking about early voting. In many states that may well be the safest option. Good luck to everyone.
