Also, Trump’s denial and mishandling of Covid’s initial response caused more severe quarantines and business closures, which Biden had to take on and clean up. As usual a Republican president makes a mess and a democrat has to come in and clean up. Much the same way as Obama had to cleanup after Bush. Normally, taking a private company public is a lengthy and expensive fare. But if a SPAC buys or merges with your private company, it immediately becomes public. In this case, Trump Media & Technology Group Corp. was a private company started by Trump in 2021 and running the site Truth Social. He tried to merge it with DWAC immediately, but the SEC held up the merger for a while. After the merger went through, the merged TMTG and DWAC kept the name DWAC but started trading under the new ticker DJT. Companies that go public through a SPAC are typically viewed as riskier by investors since they don't go through the usual IPO price discovery process and less information is known about their operation. The reason the ACA is not very good is because it had to be watered down so much before it would pass a Republican house. You can. Thank Mitch McConnell for that.
