Mhm. Conceal carry should be for all, even those without permits. Just the permit should be easy to apply for with a click and should only serve to let the officer pull you over to be aware that your a conceal carry user like in Alaska as a example. So there wont be any surprises for the officer. But shouldn't be a requirement in order to conceal carry. Im gonna be new to conceal carry in a week or two, since permits arn't needed in my state (alaska) anyways. Just gonna have to find out yt videos on how to do it properly I hope.

Constitutional carry doesn't get you around the law from 1995 that prohibits carry within 1,000 feet of a school, and virtually anywhere in city limits is within that distance of a school. Start drawing circles of that radius from corners of school properties in your area, you'll see. So, effectively, one still has to have a permit to carry even in a constitutional carry state.

Only caveat is that I have to declare ownership at a police station within 72 hours of obtaining it. Background check is done the moment they give you a firearms license. In Illinois You're required to have an F.O.I.D. Card issued by the State police that Allows you to Purchase Firearms and Ammunition but does Nothing to Stop Criminals from Obtaining firearms! If you want to Carry Concealed that's a Class you must take more $$$, However Our Democrat Governor enacted in 2023 the PICA law which has banned the sale of almost all long guns and most everything else Long guns are limited to 10 rounds and hand guns to 15 When the law was inacted in 23 it Required people owning firearms like a AR-15 to Register them with the State police but less than 1% of the people did so!

if we had national reciprocity with permits, I wonder how that would work with any exclusions. In my home state of Missouri our laws count out 17 places that you’re not allowed to carry unless you actually have a permit and those places include things like hospitals and schools. If you’re caught carrying in those places, it’s a non-felony non-misdemeanor. All they can do is ask you to leave. If you don’t leave, then you can get in trouble, but it’s still not a felony. And I’m pretty sure in other states they have restrictions too so how is that gonna work?

For the record, under 18 USC § 926A if you are legally allowed to possess a firearm in your home state and you are legally allowed to possess a firearm in the state you are traveling to, then you are allowed to travel [thru] Illinois, New Jersey, New York, etc with your firearm. The gun(s) and ammo must be in separate locked containers in the truck our back of the vehicle out of immediate reach of driver and all passengers. I am very aware of this law because I used to travel from Virginia to Vermont thru New Jersey and New York.

Communication or lack there of is often times the spark that causes conflict. I believe that it really depends on the nature of the interaction you are having with the police officer as well as the the LEO's demeanor. I keep my CCW license in the same pocket as my DL. I would either hand both over both to the officer or at the very least allow the CCW permit be visible as you are pulling out your license. Then again; if it's a traffic stop the reason that you are having an interaction with the LEO, then I'd suggest not speeding or breaking traffic laws to begin with. If you don't break any traffic laws, you won't get pulled over to begin with.

She would have absolutely no problem having people arrested or jammed up as much as she possibly can , even if it cost the state millions in lawsuits, that she would no doubt drag out for as long as she possibly could just to make it burn as long as she can, and cause as much pain to any complainants as she can, legally or not, right or wrong.. She suffers from a Major case of TDS, and a few other mental disorders that have yet to be acknowledged but are clearly present.. National Reciprocity is better than nothing, and way better than the current system.. I agree that it’s a step in the right direction, and after a couple years when the world doesn’t end, and crime goes down, it would make a great case for constitutional carry for the entire country..Lastly But Most Importantly, if President Trump is going to do something like this he needs to get this done right away, immediately, while we have the house and the senate.. You should learn what it takes to get a CC permit in NJ. Many nanny "training courses" that cost you 1K just for them . Local extortion fees at $150 more (for no reason except a money grab) . For starters, People with Permits get kicked to the top of any applicant pile for Jobs, if You have a Permit You should automatically pay less for Home, Auto, Boat, Life, Etc Insurance, if You have a Permit You should automatically get a discount on Your Taxes as having a Gun Permit means that You do not break the law, use illicit drugs, have a criminal record, and are gainfully employed. I’m from Wisconsin and I carry every day and go to the gun range a few times a month. I don’t agree with constitutional carry in my honest opinion. I feel like if you are going to carry the least you can do is take a class and learn the basics. Also if you carry the least you can do is go to the gun range a couple times a year. Cops do NOT 'need to know' who has a gun and who doesn't. Neither does ANY government. Your Driver's license is all anyone needs to permit-less carry. Cops make their job tough themselves. Stop trampling people's rights to generate REVENUE and their jobs get easier. Military and ex military are already trained. That alone should give national reciprocity for them at least. Set any requirements to the lowest denominator meaning if your state is constitutional carry then you should have that everywhere. I am a long distance cyclist and have wanted to plan a cross country bike tour from east coast to west coast. My main problem has always been i don't want to secure my snubby (I have to travel very light) and going across California State line had been an issue because they will not recognize my Texas permit. Here in Illinois u r required to have a FOID card or firearm owners identification card cost 10 dollars and and u just fill out a application u need one to get CCL
