Trump Shooting: Officer Greg Nicol Suspicious Timeline?

Jeff Ostroff Analyzed more of the new police bodycam videos and 2-hour Police Dashcam video M500-010482 released by Butler, PA police, which shows the dashcam view from one of the first police cruisers to arrive at the AGR building before the shooter was spotted and shots rang out. Here questions are raised about Officer Greg Nicol and we trace his movements through this mystery to determine exactly where and when he went to look for the Trump shooter outside the building, and where he was when the shots rang out. Is the Butler PD hiding something, or is there a connect-the-dots explanation for us that tells us why Officer Greg Nicol was seen exiting the building at 16:13:24 PM, just 2 minutes after the shooting? Where was he during the shooting?

the reactions are not that of people in charge of securing an area, you see someone on the roof thats an obvious no no. i see the angle to claim negligence but they were preparing for this for quite some time prior to the event, that in itself is extremely off if they do claim negligence i think everyone can see from video this isnt normal.

So, let me see if I understand this: 1) officer Nicols abandoned his counter sniper post overlooking the roof where Crooks would very shortly get into position, take aim and fire in order to go look for Crooks when there were many other officers available to do that; 2) Nicols then created a situation in which the other counter sniper overlooking the roof was required to abandon his post to let Nicols back in the building; and 3) then 2 minutes after the shooting, which Nicols allowed to happen by #1 & 2 above, he strolls out of the building like he hasn't a care in the world and wanders around for a while. WTF? Have I got that right?

To be fair by the time they needed the ladder the shooter was already dead so I would imagine from their perspective there was no rush at that point. Still doesn't change the fact they seemingly couldn't figure it out when the shooter did.

I'm a pretty easy-going dude but you know what really pisses me off? This is not our job, we just care to know. We've proved on numerous occasions that when the private sector cares enough about something, we will all collaborate our efforts and get it done. Our government can't say the same thing about themselves and this IS their ACTUAL job. We've had an accurate timeline of this event for almost two weeks. We're so familiar with it that we're now picking apart the movements of individual people on the scene. How is it that we have so much familiarity that we can recall the course of events off the top of our heads in detail, yet nobody from our government has any f*cking clue what happened? They've held multiple hearings about this without producing a shred of anything- not even a timeline- and nobody in the room seems to have a single clue about anything on an individual basis either. Has nobody on the committee cared enough to research this on their own time to gain a little perspective? Apparently not. And at these hearings, why is it that the person they have on the stand is always either the wrong person for the questions they're asking or they "weren't briefed on that information"? Why not cut the sh*t! There was a shot-caller for this event and it had to have been a Secret Service agent. Who was it? Get that agent on the stand. We don't give a f*ck about the former head of the Secret Service because she was not there. We give even less f*cks about her replacement. Why the f*ck would we want to hear from him? We also don't give a f*ck about the FBI because they are the federal bureau of INVESTIGATION; they are in the middle of INVESTIGATING. So why ask him questions about tactical things like asset coverage and the distribution of resources etc? Why even have him on the stand? Are they that stupid or do they think we are? There are only two people worth hearing from- the Secret Service agent who called the shots for his team on that day, and the local police officer who called the shots for his team on that day. A fifth-grader would know that the leaders who were there on the scene that day should be the first people to talk to. But our government has questioned literally everybody BESIDES them. I refuse to believe they are THAT stupid; it's just not possible. So they must think the American people are stupid. Okay, maybe a lot of us are, but not to this extent. This is insulting. They think we're complete idiots and that all these hearings are buying them time or something. Who the f*ck knows really? I can only speculate why they'd repeatedly waste everybody's time with all these hearings that go nowhere. Whatever it is, we're not going to forget or lose interest in this. This ain't politics. A good man died, several were injured, and a former president and running candidate was a half an inch away from being murdered on a live broadcast. We're not going to forget or become any less interested than we were the day it happened. No matter how much time goes by we'll never let it be buried. There's a cap to the amount of insult we're all willing to endure. I don't know about you but they've reached it for me. I want some f*cking answers NOW.

YES!!!!! I share in your passion and “pissitivity” over this situation. I’m sure they have interviewed the people who actually called the shots that day but are waiting to see how much evidence is leaked and how they can swing the alibi story to explain it away. So yes, the Director of Secret Service woman and her replacement were absolutely sent up in front of Congress to buy time. It was all pure theater to look like they’re outraged and taking action while actually hoping the public will lose interest as the news cycle moves on to cover Biden’s replacement & the stupid Olympics. It is INSULTING, indeed.

@ntesla100

Perfect point. Agreed. Was the team that turned around the team that shot Crooks? Was the SS sniper team (the team that changed their positions) able to communicate (radio) directly with the SS agents protecting Trump on stage? Was the sniper team that shot crooks actually secret service (I am unclear of this)? If they are secret service they should have been in clear contact radio contact with Trumps direct team on the stage.

The latest synopsis i've aggregated , as of 8/13 is : • the OFTEN SHOWN ( by the MSM , because they have the "cool looking" tripod ) NORTH sniper team did NOT fire upon Crooks. He positioned himself with a tree between them. • An Officer @ about mid-field , next to the crowd , fired one shot at Crooks causing him to flinch ( as seen in several bystander videos ) . The Officer saw his 5 muzzle flashes. This likely saved more bystanders from being wildly hit. • The SOUTH Sec.Svc. sniper team on the right-most roof silenced Crooks ( although i've come across 1 vague "report" of a 3rd team "in bleachers" but i have my doubts at this point ) • Todays video shows the NORTH team trying to see thru the tree , so AGAIN: WHY WASN'T TRUMP SHIELDED THEN ? As more & more civilian celphone videos surface , & are posted online ( PLEASE EVERYONE , POST WHAT you HAVE so they can't LIE to us !! ) the TRUTH MUST be REVEALED .

sort of true, but the amount of stuff running through their minds at the time was probably all about the potential danger of exposing their heads to a roofed area which had not been officially cleared as housing one shooter only. They were all in a very submissive or weak position being on the ground as the reality of a gunman or gunmen breaching the roof sunk in. the shooter(s) had the upper hand, the law on the ground knew it and my guess is their instincts kicked in and working out how to get on the roof was in their minds but weighed heavy by the disadvantaged position and the possible outcome of poking your head above the guttering without reasonable intel to do it correctly, like the best location to get on the roof that was ez and also gave them cover.

AND... there's this. I wore the badge once for a couple years, though I decided not to pursue it as a lifelong career. That said, if you see someone suspicious marking range to the stage with a range finder, you don't just take a picture of him and send a text saying: "Have a uniform check this guy out." YOU DO IT YOURSELF. I MEAN... You're THERE. This guy Greg supposedly was going "off shift.," and said he was putting his rifle away in the trunk of his vehicle. Never heard of any officer going "off shift" on a high profile event. But in any case, there is NO "off shift" for LE when they see a crime in progress, or a suspicious person at a high profile event. Officer Greg owns all of the misery, harm, death, costs, and national angst that happened that day, because he decided to just "phone it in," instead of taking the lead himself.

USU Greg was not the one going off-shift. That was a third counter sniper, who saw Crooks acting suspicious by the picnic table near the fence (where Dave Stewart ended up film near) and alerted Greg and others. He signed up for the event telling his supervisors he had to leave at 4PM and they put him on the detail. There's nothing suggesting any conspiracy there, just a short-handed tactical team from a rural area straining to cover what is a foolish and dangerous outdoor appearance of a high profile protectee.

Officer Greg DID "take the lead" and track the movement of the suspect by leaving his post. It was he likely who spotted Crooks moving fro the BACK picnic table with a backpack. By then in theory it should have been faster for other units to intercept. And, he had a post to maintain but somehow missed the shooter getting into final position. We need Greg's voluntary statement to FBI investigators but likely won't get that leaked to the media, unlike other records and such. The real question is, since other ESU guys wore helmet can, where is Gregs?

So 3 LE officers are assigned to the room that overlooks the shooter's perch and one goes home long before Trump goes onstage. Then, just as Trump begins speaking, 1 of the remaining 2 goes outside to look for the guy they've been monitoring for 2 hours - they couldn't request that one of the hundreds of cops on the ground do this??? Next, we're told the room is abandoned entirely (with the sniper rifle pointing at Trump) to let #2 back inside - but #2 had never found Crooks, so why would he want to go back inside? The mind-boggling incompetence makes it hard to definitively identify malice, but it's amazingly CONVENIENT how everything conspired to let the nutcase kid use Trump for target practice.

Let me start with once upon a time there was one guy who took a shot a Donald J. Trump. Warren Commission 2.0 everything has to trace back to the lone shooters gun. He is dead so we will never know who he might have been involved with. At least this time they did not have to shot him on live TV in the basement of the police station.

It makes no sense in a perfect world, but we don't live in a perfect world. It makes perfect sense to me and is consistent with everything I have seen that happened both before and after the shooting. First off, everybody keeps leaning back to the Secret Service, but it is clear from the video and statements that they were not involved in the scramble to find Crooks before the shooting. That indicates the real problem that led to this. The cops did everything I would expect to see cops do under the circumstances, the only problem with that is working event security and working patrol require different mindsets and actions. This led to them making some serious mistakes. Again, this goes back to the Secret Service, which did not supervise them. Note that it wasn't a case of the SS doing it incorrectly. They just didn't do it at all. It is clear that the cops here did not have any protocols to follow, or chain to report to. Again, that falls back on the SS. As a result of them not properly coordinating with their temporary help, they left a major hole in their perimeter. Anyone determined enough would find it. It doesn't take a genius to do that, just determination and Crooks obviously was.

A combination of video evidence as well as Nichol's own words REALLY incriminate him. None of his story makes sense. He gave incorrect directions of the suspect information which led police away from Crooks. Then then abandoned his post on the second floor where he could have easily prevented the shooting, but instead of running to the door nearest himself and where he KNEW Crooks was, he went to the opposite side of the complex, traveling through two buildings and a crosswalk, taking over two minutes instead of 15 seconds. His behavior is HIGHLY suspicious. There is something wrong with this investigation because we would have already heard on the news that Nicol is a prime suspect.

Yup. Different philosophies. Internet conspiracy theorists start from an assumption and find the evidence they can to match the conclusion or a supporting version of it. Legitimate investigators do the opposite. In this case, internet idiots said "no way this could happen through incompetence, this had to be an inside job and multiple shooters". Then, they proceeded to push the 2nd shooter water tower theory from some black pixels at 10x zoom. Once that was debunked, they said it came from windows. They also misanalysed audio. Then we get all this new footage that debunks all of those and they are now conjuring up new theories and moving the goalpost even more. They will never change.

The term conspiracy theorist does not mean a person is speculating or investigating an event. In common usage, a conspiracy theorist means someone who believes a shadow group behind the scenes can arrange any event with almost miraculous powers down to the most minute detail. They form a conclusion and then cherrypick facts to support it. Usually, those facts are just anomalous trivia that you could find if you put any situation under a microscope. That is not the same thing as properly investigating something.

Why was Trump allowed on stage when the threat was detected long before the shooting? Occams Razor: Option 1 (official): The secret service had a catastrophic failure; failure in comms, failure in site preparation, failure in assigning snipers to the shooter building roof, failure in detecting a threat that even people on the ground could see. Option 2: The secret service let it happen via intentional negligence by some members in leadership positions. For option 1 we need to make a bunch of assumptions as to how there was no communication with local law enforcement when that is the norm, why the said roof wasn't protected by SS agents when it was an obvious call, why no SS agent could see a suspicious person running on the roof when people on the ground could see him, etc. For option 2 we just need to make 1 assumption, that an SS agent (or more than 1) in leadership position purposefully made calls to allow the shooter to get shots at Trump.

It has been established that the sniper teams had set up a cell phone group text. I think Greg texted them that the suspect could be on the roof. That would be when the Hercules snipers turned to face the AGR building. I assume Greg notified the local commander as well by radio but the local commander only had contact with the SS site commander through cell phone calling to the state trooper in the SS trailer. Officers said the cell phone communications was spotty. Why Greg or the other sniper in the second floor simply looked out the window is still unknown. However the Bulter police put out a stupid graphic with a cone of view that conveniently excluded looking over the lower roof right in front of them. Greg did some stupid stuff, particularly 1) leaving his post and 2) saying that Crooks was going to Sheetz. I think 2 led the additional resources to be misdirected from the AGR complex.

There were windows all on that side, plus there’s a window that faces towards the water tower. Greg would have been able to deal with Crooks long before the guy reached the shoot spot. This is what is suspicious, that a highly-trained sniper/cop would just go running downstairs aimlessly. There’s also a video where a cop comes out of the AGR building, several minutes after Crooks was shot, carrying a rifle. He leans the rifle against the hand rail and stands there. Then Greg comes out, walks away, then casually returns but nonchalantly leans against the same handrail that the gun is leaning on. After a couple minutes, when there’s what seems like a quiet moment, Greg nonchalantly takes the gun from where it was leaning on the rail and leaves with it trying not to look obvious, and the other cop nonchalantly walks back inside. Time to scrutinize the sworn testimony of Pennsylvania police Col. Christopher Paris. Under oath he told Congress at least 4 questionable things: (1) two of his snipers were stationed by a 2nd floor window in Bldg 2 overlooking the roof of Bldg 1, but those two snipers abandoned their post to search for a suspicious person walking outside (2) a cop tried to lift another cop onto the roof, but Crooks pointed a gun at them, causing the cop to fall down and get injured (3) Paris believes those 2 cops were his 2 snipers from Bldg2 (4) Paris' agency "met or exceeded expectations" But, regarding (1), your new video shows Nicol, who I assume is one of the two Paris referenced, but if so, where is Nicol's sniper buddy? Regarding (2), you presented a prior video showing how the cop that fell from the roof immediately ran away. He wasn't injured lying on the ground as Paris implied. As for (3), your earlier video showed that the cop that fell down wasn't a sniper. He had driven to the scene in his patrol unit. (4), Anyone that's ever worked in security knows not to leave their post abandoned. Call in for replacements to take over your assignment, or request someone else search for the suspicious person walking around. Paris can't say "met or exceeded expectations" unless his expectations included failure. In addition, the cop that fell to the ground should've fired his gun to warn Secret Service. And of course, none of Paris' Keystone Cops from the Keystone State could open a ladder.

Greg walks casually out the door 2 minutes after shooting. Than insists on running and being first in the building when he goes back in. Where and who is Greg’s sniper partner in video? One hour latter there is a radio communication that a person was spotted in the window and that’s why law enforcement led by Greg rushed back in. I find it amazing that you do not question Greg’s casual look when he first comes out the door. I would speculate that he is not in alarm mode about the shooting but in sneaky mode to checkout what is now happening and who may be right outside the building. Like someone looking guilty not alarmed. Have you discovered and reported on his sniper partner and where is he anyway?

Most of my friends and I have been convinced since the first body cam footage from the roof post-shooting was shown that it was "Greg" (remember when the guy in a suit is asking questions and someone says "Sure, Greg was right there" and points to the open window that overlooked the roof where Crooks lay....the open window with a gun positioned inside and pointing at the rally stage IN PLAIN SIGHT). The open-windowed room was the scene of the crime. AGAIN, the window where Greg was positioned with his gun overlooking the roof where Crooks was laying and with the best location to shoot from. (In fact, one of the SWAT team members even goes over to the edge of the building and calls out to "Greg" where the window is still open, but of course he's no longer there.) All else is a distraction. Keystone cops as a meme is now the subject of gallows humor. It makes the most sense and we know that the 1,300 investors comprising Austin Private Wealth would not be investing in 12 million short put options on just a 20-year-old patsy. Hours of body cam and dash cam footage, plus the hours of cell phone footage, only makes it more glaringly obvious. "Greg" either shot the first three or the second round of five shots, with the others coming from a second professional sniper assassin in a first floor window underneath Crooks (recall someone trying to clear that area between the AGR building and the fence so that no civilians would wander into the line of fire). The counter snipers, who made their first appearance ever at a trump rally on, were third in rotation, being told to wait until the assassins had gotten their rounds off. It's mightily insulting to our intelligence to be led on this wild goose chase that was obviously done for purposes of distraction. Once the dirty deed was done, though unsuccessful, "Greg" did the same thing that the actual killer of JFK, James Files, did. He simply walked out of the building casually and acted like he was rejoining the search for Crooks. If you were part of a group that wanted to see Trump killed in public, you couldn't ask for a better setup. The fact that there are so many naive people that are willingly led into the weeds around the mulberry bush is shocking. I get migraines of exasperation when it seems pretty clear that the assassins gunning for Trump were wearing uniforms and would naturally be acting as clueless as the rest of the security teams....who were intentionally kept on different radio frequencies to maximize keystone kops stupidity. Crooks most likely never even shot his rifle and had probably been set up to think he was part of a filming of another commercial. Did he really think that he would be able to actually shoot president Trump and get away with it if he didn't believe a scenario he had been convinced of by either FBI or DHS personnel? Because I don't think he had a death wish or a terminal illness that would have encouraged him to be suicidal. Remember Lee Harvey Oswald was an FBI mole within the CIA and the Texas Book Depository building was bought specifically to set Oswald up in.

Dr Chris on his PP YT channel has new dash cam footage of Greg casually exiting the front doorway a minute and 52 seconds after the 8 shots are fired, but then scrambles back in a few minutes later when everyone else (LEOs) shows up...but he's coming from the opposite direction than which he exited. Then at 8pm, after the "shift" is over, a group of LEOs leave in street clothes and Greg is the last one out the door. He's carrying a long barrel sniper weapon with what appears to be a noise suppressor, meets another dude who's been waiting for him at the picnic table just outside the front door and who's dressed casually but has a huge pair of binoculars and is grinning ear to ear.

The secret service left a clear path for Crooks, except for the personnel in the two story building. Therefore, it is critical to understand the failure of the cops in the two story building. All it would take for a conspiracy to kill Trump is the secret service person who directs the detail to delegate the most obvious risk location to local cops and then design a plan for the local cops to not understand comms and to not be covering that rooftop/obvious risk location. Not saying it's a conspiracy, but not saying it isn't one either. Just saying it needs to be deeply investigated. If a wife slips in the bathtub and drowns and the husband is having an affair and/or stands to gain an insurance payout, that gets investigated heavily. As it is, he looks like he had a bad feeling about Crooks, tried to follow up, but by doing so, he left a spot where he could potentially have seen the roof where Crooks decided to plant himself. The other analyst I watched disputes Jeff's belief that Crooks assembled his gun after he first climbed onto the roof. This other guy thinks Crooks did it while at his final location and lying on his side with his back to the civilian witnesses who saw him on the roof. Are we ever going to find out what Crooks' motive was for shooting Trump? Was he really invisible online? Will the family reveal anything? officer greg nicol exits the AGR building two minutes after the shooting, looking completely calm and relaxed and almost as if "in the know", while everybody else is running around, confused and high on adrenaline. the question here becomes: WHY?
@jackiedragonfly2461
@jackiedragonfly2461 28 күн бұрын
Yes , and remember this is only 1.5 minutes after the shooting - the other officers are still shouting to each other to beware of the danger coming from the roof, so a sniper with an overwatch position should, once again, never have abandoned his post in this situation! and he can't say he was locked out this time, as we clearly see him coming out of the freaking building. The "locked out" was just a story made up to explain why both snipers were hiding away during the entire time they could have easily taken out Crooks from their position.

@@metalsadman Retired SS are reporting that the Comms set up for this event was something they’ve never seen before. Normally there is just ONE central CP run by Secret Service. Assisting LE agencies will send a liaison from their department to the CP & monitor their own comms literally in the same room as SS. If something comes over their radio they can just look over at the SS command & let them know. It’s standard operating procedure. However at Trump’s event, for whatever reason, someone decided that each LE agency would set up their own CP & monitor their own Comms & report to SS over the radio. 3 CPs instead of 1 ? Why would they do this ? It’s a complete waste of manpower & the logistics of relaying a message is slowed …Smells rotten !

If you think you have 3 guys upstairs and your comms are getting through to them you call it in. You don't fire warning shots because that incites the shooter to begin fire - the longer he doesn't fire the more time your guys have to deal with it.

Wasn't Greg the guy who was supposedly locked out of the building once he left to look for the suspicious person, and then the second sniper had to leave post to let him back in, hence the shooter wasn't spotted on the roof right next to the sniper post? If so, why is Greg coming OUT of the building right after the shots were fired? Shouldn't he have already been outside waiting to be let back in?

This was a Secret Service catastrophe from start to finish. 1. Abrogating control of the AGR building to local Law Enforcement. 2. Loss of field integrity by not having drone coverage. 3. Not having officers on the high ground of the AGR building. 4. Profoundly inadequate communications between Secret Service and local law enforcement. 5. Allowing President Trump to remain on that stage when Secret Service had enough warning of a credible threat to reorient the North Sniper Team towards the identified threat. Criminal negligence from the Secret Service Officer in Charge. We need a full and independent investigation, PUBLIC, into the minutia of the debacle. We need President Trump to have adequate protection, and not this mind boggling incompetence. We need to prosecute, cleanse, and restore not only Secret Service, but the DOJ, FBI, CIA. But this is just fantasy. We have self serving Elitist criminals running the show, and everything is going just fine in their worlds.

Greg has been in 2'nd floor a while right? So why does he not just tell all the guys: "Hey look, why don't we just exit through the 2'nd floor window onto the roof?" He could also have said: "From there we can also have a shooter trained at the guy while we assess if he is still a threat."

In common usage, the term conspiracy theorist means someone who believes that a shadow group with unlimited resources can engineer any situation with almost magical abilities, and this person looks at an event and cherry-picks anomalies that you could find anywhere if you put it under a microscope, and uses this to support their belief. That is not the same as people working together to achieve a common goal, which is technically what a conspiracy is.

@@tammy5926 Conspiracy theorists are never right. Let me use this shooting as an example. If you belong to a group that has unlimited resources and you want to get rid of Trump, why would you do it at a place that has more cameras than a movie set? Why would you use a crazy 20 year old that you could have only recruited ten weeks earlier? If you have the ability to control the Secret Service then you can afford a lot better assassin than that.

I would think that Greg had to realize that his previous, 2nd-story position had a GREAT view of the roof on which Crooks was finally located. Why wouldn't he RUN back to that window where he had his sniper position? Why was Greg STILL walking around outside the building, when the cops' attention had turned to that roof?
