But I care about some items and losing them has devastated me. To have Jacky Kennedy, who lived in the White House and to have had her husband killed, it is a part of History. But getting rid of so much of what we see doesn’t seem right, to me. Especially since the garden had not been touched by other White House Presidents and their families. Trump actually did speak to the committee that is in charge of repairs/decor. No one was really keeping up with repairs. He and the First Lady did a lot of restoration that was needed and repairs that were long over due. As far as the decor, they basically switched furniture, paintings, etc. around and he even paid for a few items, not sure exactly which ones. Everything was long over due. It looks a lot better.

White House furniture and draperies, etc., are kept in warehouses and new occupants can choose some things from those instead of buying new. The presidential desk, for instance, is chosen from antiques we already have in storage. Much is donated, too.

As a disabled veteran I go to the VA hospital every month. There is always a large photo of the current president in all federal buildings. During trumps presidency he had his picture removed twice because he didn’t like it. It cost the tax payers millions to redistribute that picture to all federal facilities. I hada chance to get my custom back brace replaced and eye surgery with Trump thru Community Care but the VA screwed that up. I can only think the back brace disappeared out of the computer because it indicates disability Social Security determined was during active military service. What excuse for not providing me a letter the eye surgery was no cost to me, as they insisted. The day to have to first surgery, I was told I had to pay $700 cash up front each surgery. No one told me. I had no letter. I had no way to prove every time I was told the VA was paying in full, and I do not pay. It is my experience the VA remained as dysfunctional as ever, regardless of U.S. President, and worse with Obama. I received a letter from the VA with a threat, if I did not sign with the VA I would be fined $2,000 ..another lie, I have MediCare.

He's as a shady as a Trump bill could go. Republican donors maybe got him millions for renovation and furnishings, but in the end all that gold and picture frames are on lease , or the heath system fix are not totally paid for, or something like that.
