I actually admire this new sense of Mexican pride and patriotism. Mexico has always been very rich both culturally and historically. In fact I'll dare say that Mexico has THE richest culture of all the Americas. I've been to Mexico before and I absolutely love the culture of the country and people. The Mexican people shuld be proud that they live in the land of Aztecs and Mayans, Cortez and the Conquistedores, Benito Juarez and Pancho Villa. The only thing America has is lots of money, that's it. But when it comes to history and culture, you guys wipe the floor with us. VIVA MEXICO! (from an American)

Thank you for your opinion Richard, I agree with you, Mexico has such a rich culture and we are proud of it! It's just that sometimes we feel like bad things overcome the good ones but we shouldn't let that thinking get into our head. I also believe that "complaining less and work more" is a way of trying to improve things for you and your country :) ¡Saludos!

Interesting video. I am learning Spanish and just returned from a mission trip from Mexico. I'm not one to talk politics, but I was curious how Mexicans felt about the Trump wall. I loved the comment "We need to build bridges, not walls..." I think the opinions that you decided to air were good and honest and respectful. Thank you for the video. Also, Baruch, your videos have been my favorite so far. God bless!

We appreciate your feedback Wendy, thank you so much! This channel is based on that: respect and tolerance. We all have an opinion on these topics and we should be able to listen to others as well as share our point of view in a decent way. Some people just miss that point easily. Keep the Spanish going! More videos are coming! :)

I really like the difference you can observe here... You ask people in Mexico, and their answers are polite, smart, reasonable, searching for solution and better tomorrow. You go ask the same question to the US, and half the time you get yelling, cusswords, nastiness. Which approach do you think is going to make things great again ? Just something to think about..

Problem with these videos though is that the common man usually if ever takes more than multiple hours of their day to really think of the reason and the repercussions of something like this. It doesn't matter if they are Mexican or American, many people will give you their face value opinions about a problem like this. But its a political decision. Political decisions usually aren't made on face value opinions. They require thought and should be digested. I'm only saying this because how some people say words like Evil, disgusting etc before they answer. Their mind was already made up before really answering. Also, its really hard to do these videos when they are with a group or being recorded. It shows that people really do change their opinion based on who they are around.

Sin embargo espero que Mexico sera mas bien y prospero asi que los mexicanos no nesecitan dejarles sus pais Thank you for the video, I am sorry if us americans had insulted mexicans. I dont want to deprecate anyone's dignity and it makes me sad to see mexicans being treated like garbage. But please don't allow it to anger you but respond with humility and kindnesss. I am happy that the interviewer seemed nuanced and not vindictive against Trump and I hope the attitude is shared by other mexicans. I do want mexicans to come to the united states but as american citizens. However I hope that Mexico will prosper so that they don't need to leave their country.

Building a wall does not mean being a racist. Every country has the right of being sovereign. As an American I like Guadajalara but I just don’t like Trump being labeled as racist. Instead of blaming Trump, blame your government for corruption and not doing enough to keep the economy good for Mexicans to have good paying jobs in order to live in Mexico. Don’t expect another country to take care of another country’s citizens, that’s a country’s leaders obligation to their own citizens and self improvement like educating themselves.

I argued for hours with someone who crossed illegally 17 times just on this topic.

Im from southamerica and I think every country has the right to enforce its laws and rules, Specially when its about border control. Otherwise the concept of nation itself dissapears, if there is no borders no regulations then where Mexico starts and the USA ends? why not just blend both countries into one? I bet mexicans would not like that and they want to preserve their traditions, culture, language and heritage. Myself I have immigrated to another country but I did LEGALLY, I made all the paperwork from my country, I had to take medical exams, etc. waited months and months, and I think thats the right way to do it, following the rules of the nation that will be your new home. They have a right to make sure its the good people who is coming in, not the bad elements of society.

One of the most beautiful things about learning a language it's to learn the culture that covers that language. For us it's important to show and talk about important topics like this and in this specific video to be able to share the opinion of Mexicans about this issue. These kind of videos where people have to come up with well-though arguments are very rich for learners because the vocabulary is more challenging. We try to have a wide variety of topics and situations in the streets so you can learn more and more with each video and therefore not get stuck. We appreciate your opinion. We also constantly are asking you to suggest topics for our upcoming videos. So feel free to share some ideas with us.

Please don't use controversial topics like the wall!! The essence of the video is to learn and get better at Spanish. I'm really sure Mexican people and American people are good people in general...with shitty goverments that take sometimes bad decissions...but please don't use this space to get on arguments and fight about political topics. Mexico and USA have always been friends, it's sad to see people attacking the Mexicans in the coments for expressing their opinions about the wall. They have the right to say their thoughts. Don't divide us more than we already are. Let's blame on our terrible presidents! and not our amazing people on both sides of the wall instead.

You're right about that, people miss the point really quickly. We're not attacking anyone, actually we are trying to discuss these issues with elaborated arguments, not by yelling and attacking people. The purpose of these kind of videos is to show the culture of the people that speaks this language and to also give the learners a wide variety of of topics and situations in the streets so they can learn more and more with each video and therefore not get stuck. Thank you for your opinion Marco!

I am non-white, like Spanish culture and support Trump's wall. Immigration control is important to a nation's prosperity and has many facets. Don't fall prey to corporate propaganda paid for by wealthy people who want to import and exploit cheap foreign labor. That's the wrong way. Limited & careful legal immigration along with proper integration is the way to keep the nation cohesive and happy. And immigrants should feel free to oppose mass uncontrolled immigration, just as someone who drinks occasionally can be against alcoholism. Make America Great Again!

Anonymous Guy - You support a false sense of security. The wall is a waste of AMERICAN money that will NOT work whatsoever and sends a rude diplomatic message to Mexico. We have 4 years of this stupidity to endure...

The wall won't stop uncontrolled immigration. It won't stop drug trafficking. Why? Because around land there is sea and in every wall that length there will be holes. Under the wall, tunnels will be built and over the walls, airplanes will fly in people who overstay their visas or sneak drugs in. The wall won't do anything. It's literally a blackhole taking away money that could've been used elsewhere

You are more wise than most. The wall won't solve all our problems, but it will make it harder to cross. Illegal crossings will be reduced. Also, a wall is much easier to patrol than open ground, so a wall will save money by reducing manpower costs.
