There was pushback, one of Obama's appointments was ruled illegal by the SCOTUS, which is why after his term they didn't use it. And no incoming President has tried to circumvent the consent and advise clause of our Constitution, effectively shutting Americans out of our Constitutional right of representational oversight, to appoint his entire cabinet. It is required by our Constitution that appointees be confirmed by the representatives of ALL the people. America is not a dictatorship or monarchy where one man gets to rule absolutely. We have 3 co-equal branches of government for the express reason of preventing that kind of threat to our republic
