This is wonderful. Haven’t played in 50 years. It is perfect for a former brass player that has the urge to get back into trumpet again. Thanks.

Can you use these notes as a flugelhorn? I just gotten my first brass instrument and I don’t really know what the notes are for my Flugelhorn

Yes, they are the same. Good question and good luck on your new journey! Reach out when and if you ever need me.

Hi there Chris, I love your vids and watch nearly all of 'em, but when it comes to range I hit a brick wall at D or E above High C. It's driving me nuts. I can get an F# or F on a good day but they're not solid. Any tips?
@ChrisDavisTrumpet3 жыл бұрын
I haven’t seen or heard you play so take this advice with a grain of salt. Make sure you’re not using two embouchure sets. . . One for high and another for low. Work from the mid register up so that you’re using the same set. Scales two octaves are great for this. Mid to high back to mid to low. One set. Clear? Hard to explain with words. This may be a topic for a future video.

@@ChrisDavisTrumpet I think I’ve developed two embouchure sets one for low and mid staff and one for high. Do you have any tips for overcoming this? I’ve found that I developed an aperture off center for high notes. I have a mean double buzz when playing high on-center

May be a foolish question but it looks like duplicate fingering for different notes. How come they sound different?
@ChrisDavisTrumpetАй бұрын
Great observation and it's not a foolish question. The answer has to do with the overtone series. The trumpet only has 3 valves but can play all 12 tones of music for roughly 3 plus octaves. Check out this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/janCnKidiMqgnLssi=8BsiW0VTH6sxOsYM
