I can relate to Grace. As a last born, I found an incomplete house that stayed like that until I returned home to find my older siblings and had finally done the remaining bit. 😅 Same story, parents losing jobs and etc. No wonder I'm also on here because, for me, what matters is having a shelter, whether a mud house or container is OK. I love your passion, and thank you for letting us in your personal story.

Hey Grace! Bravo! Container houses can really solve the house/land affordability problem. People can lease land & move with their houses.

Thank you so much for sharing!! I really appreciate your story. I have lived in rented spaces a lot of my adult life including when I was at the University and my marriage. We've rented in apartments and houses and we finally got our first house to own 2 years after my son was born. Renting is very stressful and you are at the mercy of the landlord. The last house we rented we came back from vacation and found a for sale sign in the yard when we got back! We did not miss any payments, but the landlord decided they wanted to sell the house and we didn't want to buy it. Long story short, God provided a way for us to purchase a new home, I got a new job, and a new car all in about 30 days! We don't own a container house, but I am very interested in building some in the near future for a personal residence and residual income. And like you said, if things get tough again, at least you can sell the house! It is an investment which does appreciate especially if you keep up with the upkeep and renovations. We can make a profit through the sale of a brick and mortar structure and go tiny and build on it debt free which is my goal!

Thanks for sharing your story. It makes the channel so much more interesting because people can now relate to you and your journey on a personal level. I live in a container home and it's such a lovely experience.

I'd want a container house for the very same reasons and especially the fact of having a place where you don't have to worry about rent 💯

You made the right decision with your container house. Financial independance and forward flexibility on site location/sale! That background is illuminating!

Just how portable are container houses after construction? Is it as easy as just hiring a crane and transporter to the new location?
@livingtinywithGrace3 жыл бұрын
Yes it is as long as you did not join them through welding. If you did, you then need to cut the welding before the container can be lifted by a crane

Hi. Congratulations on your very useful chanel. Question....what difference does it make if you omit insulation and install dry wall or osb direct.
@livingtinywithGrace5 ай бұрын
Containers go through condensation and most of the finishes we use on the inside, over time, they get damaged with moisture. You dont want your wall to start rotting from the back. Insulation creates that moisture barrier thus giving you more years to your build

Didn't you listen to what she said? Her dad was saving more of his money for school fees instead of building his house
