Thanks for that information. You explained it honestly because I had questions about the PRP. Presently I got the cortisone injection. Still waiting to see how fast I recover. Heard about PRP and you explained it thoroughly. Thank you.

I had the the PRP injections in both knees and for me I'm still experiencing pain and discomfort. I've been through Physical Therapy along with weight loss. Not really sure what's left for me to do. I'm scheduled for a follow up phone call with my doctor to see what my other options are. This video is very informative. Go Navy Beat Army always!

With hEDS (hyper mobility) we know tendons don’t heal with PT. They can only heal if injected an irritant like PRP/Prolotherapy or Stem Cell therapy. Had PRP done in many areas and I can finally walk, sit and stand without pain. I am no longer having subluxation of my joints thanks to PRP.

I loved this explanation, thank you! I noticed you talked about the outcomes for ligaments and tendons, but what about other aspects of a joint when it comes to PRP? The humerus of my shoulder is slightly raised (subluxed) when I treated desk work like a sport for one week. I had a desk that was too high for me that caught up with me by Friday when I went too intensely on a project. Fast forward, it's now been a year of shoulder impingement that's very gradually improved. I also have mild subacromial bursitis. My shoulder becomes retracted in the afternoon, some mornings I will wake up and the joint is fully mobile. I can't do yoga, do a full body stretch, desk work aggravates it, sleeping is more complicated, etc. Do you think PRP might offer some benefit to bring a raised humerus down into the capsule so to speak? I had a doctor recommend it recently as an option. I read on Johns Hopkins it can increase joint mobility, which you addressed in your video in relation to the knee.
@austindeadmond1267 Жыл бұрын
Wow. This sounds exactly like the issue I am dealing with. Been dealing with an impingement for the better of 8 years now and have been there 6 different PT facilities and two cortisone shots and nothing has ever worked. Yesterday my doc recommended PRP due to my chronic issues. My ball of my shoulder is slightly raised as well.

@@austindeadmond1267 Can you please come back here and let us know if this works for you? I’d also be happy to share my exercises I’ve been doing with my PT who said that the humerus has come down substantially now. Also, has anyone said that you might have frozen shoulder? Here is a paper that saw over 50% benefit with PRP. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4733245/ They injected into two different sights.

Thanks a lot for your video Doc. I've been having chronic pain on my wrist and had a initial TFCC injury which led to it healing after a cortisone injection but an eventual ECU Tendinopathy. I got a PRP injection into my tendon but the area appears to be slightly swollen and I haven't got too much benefit out of it. I wonder if another PRP is need or just time? Because its been upto a year and I still havent seen an elimination of pain yet....

Are stem cell treatments better than prp for osteoarthritis?
@Go4omir2 жыл бұрын
Research show similar results - NO LONG TERM BENEFIT in both methods. OA is degenerative in nature - it will become worse as time progresses. PRP is far cheaper and accessible than stem cell transplantation - and both methods achieve almost the same short term / mid term results. Unfortunately, we humans still cannot regrow cartilage - neither PRP not stem cells can help you with OA. The only option we have is to decrease inflammation, have lesser pain, and provide lubrication to the joint. Try PRP combined with HA injections (1/2 year after last PRP session). Forget about cortisone and NSAIDs.
@chadlatvaaho9102 Жыл бұрын
Funny how my complete tears in my rotator cuff completely healed without surgery. I had stem cell and PRP. I was 40 years old then. I am now 53 and still no issues. Might I also add that I still workout hard and do a lot of outside activities.
