SGT Albanez, you were such an AWESOME addition to class. Your faith is commendable and I admire your unapologetic approach to giving the glory to God. The SGLs in our PLT are in a lull this cycle because your group had an unmatchable dynamic. Class 005-23 goes down as my favorite cycle to facilitate in the 2 1/2 years I've been an instructor. Your work ethic, resilience, and attitude will ensure success in any of your future endeavors. Best wishes!

I truly appreciate that SSG Shindollar! Not going to lie, some days I miss being at BLC haha, but you guys had a lot to do with why our dynamic was so strong and for that, we thank you! Wish you well, I know you’re going to be a great Chaplin.

I am attending BLC soon and is both excited and nervous. I am going to BLC as a E-5 due to having temporally promotion orders which I feel weird about.
@deborahalbanez3003 Жыл бұрын
It’s okay! You won’t be the only one wearing an E5 rank, but they make it clear to those at BLC that everyone is the same rank, no matter if you are a specialist, corporal or sergeant. So you should be fine!

Hell yeah! 2nd SQD, 2nd PLT rules! Man, that ACFT _sucked._ I'm just glad we got through everything and didn't lose anyone! 0 failures for the class. There were only 3 essays. What you're probably thinking of is the Operational Environment brief. Speaking of standing in front of the one-way mirror, all of those memes for the class made the whole thing that much better. We really came together from the get-go and I love how flawless it felt too. Still, you were absolutely the best of us. It sucks that you got robbed of Commandant's List. And I think we're all gonna remember our friend losing his spot. Pretty sure the SGLs will too lol Hope the rest of your time at Riley goes better than that final week at BLC. We Stand with Albanez!

@@deborahalbanez3003I loved BLC, too. I even got to sing for my class. And I made a few good rapports with my classmates. Good times was free of personality clashes and drama. And my facilitators were fun. I was ecstatic to get my E-5 in April 2022 and was excited looking forward to BLC. If I could repeat BLC, I’d do it again, too. My BLC was at Camp Cook, Louisiana.

Unfortunately we lost five people in my BLC Class in 2022, sadly 😢. Four out of the five lost was sent home for not meeting height and weight and one person was sent home for, I guess, not adapting to the BLC training environment for personal reasons.

You should stay in the service and have the army put you through pa school as far as locker issue I always locked my locker it’s something that you should do you learn from day 1 in basic to keep a lock on your locker some people in my basic training learned that the hard way and most of the time it was the same people over and over

Sgt Albanez. I did not pass BLC the first time. Besides practicing. What else would you recommend for going to BLC a second time?
@deborahalbanez3003 Жыл бұрын
Confidence is key! Once you have the basic drills and PRT down, then it’s an easy slope from there. Get some people to help you at work when you aren’t doing anything. Practice is truly the only way you can get confident and pass! Watch videos over and over again

@@deborahalbanez3003 Sergeant Albanez. One year later. I actually passed BLC not too long ago. I did exactly what you said. DNC and PT conduct assessment. And it is as you said. It was a downhill slope. And now I’m officially sergeant.

Going to go ahead and say it, corporal CAN be the worst rank in the Army. You get handed down every SGT’s worst duties and you’re the same rank as the soldiers you have to force to work with you. I imagine it your unit never deployed it’d be a lot worse too.

I heard leaders course wasn’t mandatory but to promote to Sergant do you NEED to go through leadership course?
@deborahalbanez3003 Жыл бұрын
For active duty, yes. If you make point prior to the course, you can promote. But your leaders will push for you to go to BLC

Heads up everyone…… BLC got smarter and now they are doing current event essays. So don’t be expecting to do a sharp essay on your first assignment. Just FYI.

Now this may sound like a rant but I just have to get this off my chest. I know of a female soldier I work with who is in the guard with me. She wants to earn the rank E-5 Sergeant. However, the thing I find infuriating is she has a strong sense of entitlement complex. It’s Her Way or the Highway and All About Her Her Her. She cannot take being corrected or told to do something and yet she still wants to be a Sergeant and has applied for an E-5 Sergeant slot at five different units now. For this reason, a lot of NCO’s feel she is not mature enough for this leadership role. I believe she is not ready to handle it. Respect is s two way street and if she expects other soldiers to respect her but she cannot give respect, other soldiers will disrespect her back. She still has yet to understand that she’s not entitled to other people’s respect. That has to be earned as well. E-5 promotions and respect is not given freely like candy. The sun does not shine on her behind and other people and their respect does not revolve around her. This whole situation about this mean soldier wanting to be a sergeant is infuriating for a lot of us. We all believe she is not a good fit for a leadership role because self-absorbedness is bot going to get her anywhere in the military. What is your two cents on this situation?
@deborahalbanez30035 ай бұрын
