There was also a lot in Blackstone's Commentaries (1753) on the Absolute Rights of Individuals, the first chapter of the book. "And, lastly, to vindicate these rights, when actually violated or attacked, the subjects of England are entitled, in the first place, to the regular administration and free course of justice in the courts of law; next, to the right of petitioning the king and parliament for redress of grievances; and, lastly, to the right of having and using arms for self-preservation and defence."

There are actually a lot more sources that I could have gone into. But I noticed that once my videos climb over 12 or 13 minutes oftentimes a lot less people watch them. Or a lot less people get ANY info. So I'd rather get some information out rather than none. Still, if the video is popular now if I could always make a part two!

The 2nd amendment says we have the right to keep and bear arms, even in a military manner. People forget what a well-regulated militia is and what it means.

They don’t forget, they have never known it to begin with. There are many people that have never read a sentence from our constitution. They stopped teaching cursive writing in schools. Now why would anyone want to do that? Couldn’t have anything to do with the declaration of independence being wrote in cursive.

@GregariousAntithesis 1. Never said anything about vigilantes. 2. It is a group of civil war fighters. It's leadership is not tied to the governor as that person may be part of who the militia has formed against.

That all sounds well and good, but it's a meaningless statement when you give it more than a surface level examination. "Tyranny" isn't an objective concept. What each individual person views as "tyrannical" is vastly different. What you might see as tyranny, your neighbor might see as reasonable regulation. How do you determine who is correct when everyone has a different definition of what constitutes "tyranny"? How do you determine when this so-called "right to rebellion" kicks in? That's why this idea that rebellion is somehow legal is a ridiculous idea. No government is ever going to give its people the legal right to overthrow it. So if you wan to rebel, by all means rebel. But when you lose (and you will lose) don't expect some court to step in and say "oh you have to let them go because they had a right to rebellion."

Democracy will flourish regardless if the government allows us to "own" guns or not. Because governments power is derived from the consent of the people. They can try to infringe on our 2nd amendment but democracy will flourish. What is rebellion if not motivated democracy?

The 2nd protest the entire constitution. The first can't do a single thing if you are unarmed and the government wants to take it away. The entire constitution would only be a concept without the 2nd to make sure the constitution is enforced and upheld and the 2nd is going to be even more important than it was let's say 50-100 years ago since we currently have multiple tyrannical pos in our government constantly attacking parts of the constitution such as the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th and more.

Great point under England law it was the right of the barons to openly in the light of day keep, bear arms and to practice the removal of the king should he violate the terms agreed. In the American context it is BOTH a right 2nd and 10th Amendments to the US Constitution and it is a duty per the Declaration of Independence AND the laws of nature or nature's God.

It's only for the people if the government allows it. To "protect" the Bill of Rights in the face of a tyrannical government requires violence and death. How many people do you know that are prepared for such action?

For years, I’ve said that in order to understand the 2nd Amendment, one must read & understand the Declaration of Independence. The Declaration of Independence dissolves any question about the intent of the founding fathers when it comes to the Bill of Rights & especially the 2nd Amendment. You went a step further & talked about John Locke. Thanks you, one of your best videos yet.

Mr. Grieve, I do believe that one day the second amendment will not be a contentious subject. I believe, against overwhelming odds, that, the matter will be decided by absolutists who have convinced the masses that "security" depends on strict authoritarian control. For a while, those who remember what freedom was, will rattle their rubber sabers but will be powerless to effect change of any kind. Eventually, even those memories will fade. The ideas of rights and determinism will have vanished and people who were once men will have transitioned completely into sheep. They will agree to be shorn on a regular basis, and as long as the cabal of power doles out enough to prevent the bleating from gaining too much volume, they will move as a herd through life in lock-step order. It will be the kind of nightmare that Orwell predicted and will happen for the same reasons. Lock understood that Liberty is hard and that the forces against it are like waves, which inexorably tear away at granite cliffs. The promises of a false Nirvana are too tempting and the people (without constant reinforcement) are too weak. You end your segments with a "quote of the day," which I always enjoy. Here are two you may have shared, but I think they are so important and relevant to this, that they bear repeating. The first is from Ronald Regan, who said, "Freedom is always only one generation away from extinction." The second is from Benjamin Franklin, who after adjournment of the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia was asked by a woman, ""Mr. Franklin, do we have a government?" To which he answered, "Yes, Madam! If you can keep it!" I will NOT be one of the sheep. I'm old and do not fear death. Some day, you may see my grey head on a battlefield. If I'm so lucky, perhaps I'll be the last man standing. It really won't matter, though. After that, there won't be any history by which to remember me anyway. - w.c.

@washingtoncowboy7295, W.C. That is an accurate assessment. Unfortunately I don't think there will be a battlefield for us to make a last stand on, unless there is a sea change in our culture. If the current administration (the third Obama administration, in my estimation) takes control, the Great Sorting will continue as TX and FL gain more residents. Eventually things like semiautomatic weapons bans get passed and anyone who does resist will be branded an "extremist" (they'll tack on the label White Christian Nationalist if they can) and the media-industrial complex will do the bidding of the Democrats and administration. The administration will isolate patriot resistors digitally, socially and physically if possible. Maybe we'll see another Alamo stand in TX but patriots will be taken down individually like Bryan Malinowsky in pre-dawn raids. I hope I'm wrong. If Trump can actually beat the establishment and get elected... THAT will make for a more interesting and probably violent future. We shall see. Until then... keep your powder dry.

VERY WELL said Tom. I am a proud American, I have served my country honorably during the cold war and in Desert Storm. I stand firm (nothing wavering) with the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States, i am also a Christian. The Jewish / Christian scriptures affirm that individual freedoms are paramount above all else. The freedom to chose to serve God or not and in that freedom to choose our governance. God wanted to be Israel's King but they chose to be like the other nations and chose to have a human King. Scripture shows us how that worked out. In some instances they had a few good kings in others they had very evil kings. America has had some good Presidents and some very bad Presidents. The founding documents of the US of A are as good as can be achieved by mankind. However the government as a whole is now nearly as evil as can be. We are not yet doomed but are well on our way to becoming a Soviet style socialist republic that has no regard for individual freedoms. As a military person I swore elegance first of all to the constitution and secondarily to the flag and the government for which it represents. Our current government is no longer which the flag or the constitution represents. Each one of us must choose today who or what we will serve. Will we chose God and Freedom or man and tyranny. This coming election is more important than any other in history. I ask whom will you serve?

As a Christian and an American I can agree that we are headed towards our end if people don't wake up and see what's going on. I fear most are too self absorbed to be watching these things unfold. It's like they are blindly walking right into their demise and don't see what's about to happen. God help us all. Thank you for your service to our country. It's the last of its kind I fear.

I am of the third statement, I am of a family of Russian Ex-patriots, due directly to the Russian Revolution. My family was involved with the aristocracy, and notoriously the White Guard. My family witnessed the demise of the Empire, over the rule of several Czars, their abuses of the people, the revolution, and it's end. With the end, another absolute power rose. But that is all history, from a different perspective as "enforcers" of a regime. Here, in America, it is a stark contrast. We have rights that all men, weather seen as created by a god, or born of this Earth, no matter your background, you have rights as a human being. These rights are the absolute of all human beings, and no government should be in a position to remove these fundamental rights, and dominate over it's citizens. If a government attempts to enslave it's people, the people have the fundamental right to resist by any means necessary. Governments have, as history shows us; always been inhospitable towards the rights of their people, and seek to destroy liberty. No one man, nor counsel of men, nor regime has the right to rule over others, and the people have the right to shake off the shackles of an abusive government, and reform their homeland. The word "Cossack" is a Tarter word that translates to "Free man", and if you believe in all men are born free, be willing to fight for the right to be free. Nobody will give you that right.

You aren't really for freedom, you want the state to compel people via their modus operandi, a logical fallacy called argumentum ad baculum, to perform; possibly against their own free will. Couldn’t have said it more clearer than he did🙏 a lot of attorneys would try and check this with well than what law allows the judiciary to restrict certain types of firearms than if this is true. My only question, is their something in the patriot act that forbids a rebellion or calls it by another name insurrection. No law including the patriot act can suspend the bill of rights. Politicians will refer to that line in the declaration as well you have the right to vote these people out of office that’s how the law allows you to remove the dirt sorta speak, but nowhere does it allow a rebellion!

Tom, as long as we have people in this country that make a living off of the government we will not have the majority e need to oust a failed government and replace it. I truly believe what you just spoke about is why we see the loss of civics education in so many of our schools today. So many of our young people today have no understanding of what happened in the Revolution, what led up to it, why the Founders made the choices they did, and why they felt those choices were so important for the future. Why isn't anybody looking at the codified laws of their state? Nearly every single state (96%), by law as of 2020 or 2021, places the governor as the commander, an adjunct general is appointed if not already assigned, the militia is separate from the National Guard, and citizens of the state form the militia. Men ages 18-45 (some are 17 to 65) can be called into service by the governor. Even California allows women to volunteer with the militia (State Constitution I § 5, CA Code MVC Division 2 Part 1 (2021), and AB 2193 (2020).

This should be mandatory for all Americans to watch and understand. Americans have been so dumbed down and forgotten the WHY and HOW we are Americans. This is a great presentation. In the mid90's there was a primer published, "The Second Amendment Primer", a copy of which should be in, read and taught from in every American household. It lays the history of rebellion and defense out from ancient times thru the writing of the Constitution. It contains the Federalist papers and the thoughts and ideas of our Founders out in one place.

It's interesting that you mention the nature of the "divine right to rule," and that to rebel against it was a moral evil. It's interesting because it seems (to me, at least) that we've fallen into a variation of that very mindset regarding "law and order." To "obey the law" is a moral good, while disobeying it, even when to follow the law causes or allows a greater harm to occur, is morally reprehensible. And what I find some bizarre about that is that when I was back in _3rd grade_ my teacher made a valuable point that I've never forgotten. "Just because something is lawful doesn't mean it's _right."_ Yes, he actually used that language. Teachers in '93 where still, y'know...teachers, and actively challenged their students. I forget exactly what sparked this lesson, but it was someone trying to pull some form of loophole abuse, I think. At any rate, that principle becomes something of a sticking point for me when people start obsessing over the importance of "The LAW," because it means outsourcing one's own moral judgement-making ability to third-parties who have no clue what they're doing...even assuming they have the "best of intentions!" when making the law. Worse, that means that even many who would call themselves advocates of the 2A won't countenance discussion over whether or not rebellion is becoming a necessity. That's apparently "doing things the wrong way," and they make that pronouncement like it's a statement of morality, in the bargain. In the end, that means we're _way_ behind the curve and need to get up to speed quick.

Unfortunately, they allow their emotions to overcome them and always claim that guns are the leading cause of death of children. When I explain to them the real facts, they tend to call me heartless and remove themselves from the conversation 🤷🏻‍♂️

Tom In answer to your right vs left about the second amendment. What I have learned in my almost 60 years is that those who are raised around free people who actually believe in freedom and prepare for problems with having fire extinguishers, spare tires, mechanical knowledge, carrying food, water and firearms for them their families and friends protection in doing whatever needs to be done/ work, travel, vacations are pro gun and freedom. Those who believe that they should be taken care of by the government, not having personal vehicles, housing, shelter, jobs believe or more like have been taught by the leftest party, schools, government and so on that they shouldn’t have to worry about anything thinking that the government will provide for them- safety, health, food, education, housing, hospitals, transportation and so don’t think that they don’t need guns to protect themselves because someone else will do it for them and believe what they are taught by the left that there rights will be protected and provided by their government and that if guns were eliminated for their protection that they would be better off. Which as we all know is stupid and nigh - eve. I have found that the left doesn’t want to take responsibility or blame for anything and that they don’t really want to admit that they have been or are wrong about anything. But with CoVid and all of the riots along with many states making criminal activity legal, people on the left have realized that they might actually have to defend themselves from bad behavior and people who are out to do them wrong because they have damaged the rule of law so badly that they have created this problem have relied that they need guns to protect themselves. But even then they don’t keep themselves personally protected at all times or when things are going good again. The last Bush years were good, then Obama got in and just about everything went downhill, until we were fortunate enough to have Trump come in and really help save our country and the world from these communist leftist soloist regime until they let CoVid get out to once again continue to control and destroy everything and everyone nigh-eve enough to believe in their lies. It only sounds extreme to us now because they have been refusing to teach the actual meaning of the Constitution and the 2A specifically for so long now

The Declaration of Independence, although not a constitution, declared that sometimes it becomes necessary to rebel against tyranny. The USA was founded on that principle.

Those of us who has learned of their family ancestry and the history behind it will have a great understanding of what this vid is about. My ancestry is primarily Scottish/Irish, mixed in with Norwegian/Danish (based on the Viking raids of England before it became the UK), as well as Native American Cherokee/Sioux. Most of my ancestors "rebeled" against tyranny of every kind..... thats how we ended up in the New World as slaves, prisoners of war and indentured servants from fighting against a tyrannical king of England. We also fought during the Revolution War as Militia to fight against that same tyranny. And again in 1814, once again, against that same tyrant. My family has a long history of military background and will continue to fight for this country, our constitutional freedoms and rights. What ALL Americans need to realize and remember....... "We the People" ARE THE MILITIA (2A)!!!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
