I never trusted the news, but it's infuriating that it's the biggest reason why misinformation has spread to the population. It's a big factor why people still think terms like pedophile and child predator are synonymous, making it difficult to talk seriously about any sort of difficult topic. We don't even have a program like Germany's dunkelfeld project here in the US because of both laws and people's misunderstandings, misconceptions and maleducation on these exact problems in our society.
