Seems like Don & Jay are interested in what each has to say. Most marriages don't even have that!!! LoL! No, I wasn't inferring anything. Not that there's anything wrong with that. The Citroën is a very nice car ! I remember as a kid in the late 1960´s, I was sitting in the backseat of a Citroën DS 23, I could not feel the speed of the very smooth car, but I wondered why all the other car was driving so slow, so I looked at the speedometer, it was a 170 km/h which is 106 miles/hour, fantastic !

I had a DS 21 Super 5 in the '70's , such an incredible car and early DS were built in Slough England . As a post script W.O Bentley only employed one apprentice and he , Mr."Jock" Arnott , was one of our patrons in our pub in Shaldon. Oh Jay ! The DS roof in S.Africa was aluminium because of the terrific heat . Thanks Donald

This thing would literally move the throttle, depress the clutch, shift the gear, let out the clutch, feed it throttle. .... it was the funniest car I have ever owned. Man, that Chrysler is beautiful. My Dad drove a '62 New Yorker that shared the same droopy-eyed, over-under headlamp setup, and the bubble-dome dash -- it's a gas, gas, gas. It glowed with an eerie blue-green backlight. It wasn't neon, but Donald might say that it suggested an Italian neon. Then again, he might not. I learned to drive in that New Yorker. It was a dreamboat. This was 4-5 years before dorm rooms discovered black lights, psychedelic posters, and glow-in-the-dark Sharpies -- way ahead of its time! John DeLorean, Detroit native and graduate of the Chrysler Institute of Engineering, would have been proud to have been involved with this motoring carriage, but he went to GM after the fall of Packard. I wonder if he was in on the design of my Papa's Studebaker Commodore?

My 1st car was a 1962 Chrysler Newport, same basic look in the front, very different in the rear. Interior was very basic, no buckets but had the same "Astrodome" instrument cluster which was just fantastic at night. It had the 361(?) engine which looked just like the 383. lovely vehicle but it had no inner fender liners, so mud/salt would get thrown up into the front fenders and rust out the fenders/headlight buckets. Thing was a tank! I remember not paying close attention while driving one day and slammed on the brakes to avoid hitting the car ahead. The guy behind me wasn't paying attention either and tried to avoid me by going to the right of me. He almost made it, but hit my car starting with his bumper/headlight badly damaging the entire left side of his car, all the way to the tail light. I felt so bad seeing his car that I didn't want to look at mine. When I finally did look at it I could hardly believe what I saw. The bumper had a small dimple in the end and was ever so slightly bent forward. That's all! Made me feel even worse for the guy that hit me! He was driving a '67 Chevelle that didn't even belong to him, that at that time was maybe a year old.

I’m looking at a photo of a black Chrysler 300G that I took about 30 years ago. We had just pulled into the parking lot of Fallingwater , the Frank Lloyd Wright -designed home in Pennsylvania, about an hour south of Pittsburgh. The car looked factory new and otherwise same as Jay’s except this car had chrome wheel covers with red centers. I remember how tempted I was to pop the hood to see if it still has the cross ram dual quad intake. I didn’t do it. Too many people around. But I still think of that day as one of the best ever for me. Visit Fallingwater and see a cherry 300G on the same day

As a kid, I bought all the small format custom/hot rodding magazines I could afford on my allowance. In the customs hobby, there was a move in the 50s to "canted quads" referring to the vertical angled headlights. I fell in love with that look, so the production Chryslers that Exner designed were my dream cars. Maybe still are. In the 70's Buick ads described their GS series as an "Iron (steel?) fist in a velvet glove". For me, that's a perfect description of the H series Chryslers. They were known for engineering at the time (torsion bars, cross ram intakes, etc) and it's so sad to see what they're building today.

Mixed emotions about the DS Chapron. Undoubtedly a piece of art, which has received a lot of love since it has been built. Unfortunately, this is one of the numerous awkward transformations of the DS by Chapron. The base car was a sleek aerodynamic design. Trrying to give it a standard rear roof and window just crushes the line. By the way, the back lights looks like they come from an Ami 6 !
