My late husband was former military, could legitimately lift the front of my grand prix off the ground, hunted every year & fished all summer. He also was a part time logger some winters. However he was very secure in his own sexuality as well. My youngest painted his toenails (he'd go to work with painted toes under his socks. He'd do princess parties with her where wigs & dresses were common). I didn't once think he was anything less than all man. I admired the strength he had to bust out of traditional gender roles because I do the same every single day. I have my own garage full of tools that I know how to use & my welds blew his, his father's & my father's out of the water. His dad was the only one of those 3 men who was ever offended by it &, I have to admit, that fact made me happy because I couldn't stand the man for other reasons. I find the small boxes everyone tries so hard to fit into in order to be accepted incredibly sad. Who did it hurt for him to rock red or pink toenails? He knew who he was & who he was attracted to so it didn't matter one iota to us. Good luck.
