i didn't necessarily cry, but i was definitely getting chills and caught somewhere between a stank face and a pog face throughout most of this release. I thought the singles released leading up to the album's release were the best songs i'd heard from IA, and yet i still feel that they were purposefully reserving their best material for the album itself. My favorite songs were somehow the B-side? Mental. I can't get over Purity Weeps and Void Surfacing, it's just straight banger after banger.

Invent Animate’s music is so big and emotional that it will take me the guts of a month or however long to fully understand this album in it’s entirety. I’ve never ever had a number one metal album, I’ve grown up with many sub genres and for that reason there’s never been a spot for one. Invent Animate told me no telepathically and gave me Heavener. All I can really say for now is Thanks, Thanks to Invent Animate. They (need) to play a show in Ireland.

📄Personal Opinion, don't kill me for such a huge comment 😂 "Heavener" is one of the best (if not the best) album i've ever heard, i had a goosebumps and strong feelings literally on every song. This is very: emotional, atmospheric, melodic, technical, unique, refreshing. Replay value is insane and i can't stop listening. If you're a fan of heavy music - you will like this album, but if you're fan of ambient and heavy music - this album will destroy you in any way possible, i'm so sorry for people that are not able to get a full immersion into this album because of lacking that important taste. I always liked Ambient and Progressive Metalcore as separated genres, but this album is a perfect mix of both and it's peaked this for me. This might be an "Ambient Prog.Metalcore", it feels like this album has everything that i love in these genres. It's actually hard to listen to this album on a first try because of the emotional and technical impact, i literally cried on Purity Weeps and i don't even need a music video for that to cry, Emberglow and Elysium also makes you wanna cry. So if somebody didn't like the album, give more chances to it definetly. Marcus is insane vocalist, i think he's one of the best Metalcore vocalists right now to be honest, his screams fit so well to the genre on a completely different level(It's not even about mixing), the cleans are so incredible and since Greyview he improved a lot. I won't talk about instrumentals because they're insanely stunning by default on this album. Tierlist: (STUNNING): Purity Weeps, Void Surfacing, Without a Whisper, False Meridian, Elysium, Emberglow; (S-TIER): Labyrinthine, Absence Persistent, Shade Astray, Immolation of Night; Out of all the songs Purity Weeps and Without a Whisper take the most special place in my heart, this is emotional heavy rain and the best songs i've ever heard, as a Holding Absence fan i fucking died literally. Void Surfacing has the best choruses parts, those clean vocals over brutal instrumentals I NEEDED FOR MANY FUKN YEARS! That last transition into chorus 😱 Even though Elysium is the last song on the album and it was released as single, i can't say that it was a bad choice to put this song last because this song is insane and it gets better after some time. There are a lot of elements and stuff including: Thall, Djent, Shoegaze, Ambient, Lofi and so on... This album sounds more like if the Thornhill's Dark Pool album was semi-mixed with Heroine in more emotional way, had Extra-Northlane and Holding Absence with Silent Planet and Vildhjarta fighting each other 😆 This is a recipe of a perfect band! -Masterpiece 10/10. One of the best albums i've ever heard (FOR THE FANS OF): Northlane(Discoveries, Singularity, Obsidian), Holding Absence(Especially the self-titled), Thornhill(Dark Pool, Heroine), Silent Planet, Vildhjarta, Sentinels, If I Were You(Radiant Dark), Before I Turn; (MIGHT ALSO LIKE): Oceans ate Alaska(Disparity and especially Hikari), Spiritbox, The Devil Wears Prada(Color Decay), Acres, Dayseeker, Mirrors(The Ego's Weight); PS: Kerrang review seems strange towards this record in my opinion, rating 3/5 is a shame. Emotions of this album are stunning and no need to tell me that Lorna Shore did something similar or better, we talk about Modern Metalcore and not about Deathcore, so shut up whoever compares it! (*malicious whisper*) shut up! No need to tell me that Currents is a better band(i see it really often), they both have different styles in one genre and i prefer Invent Animate vocals and atmosphere more, because simply it sounds better to me than what i've heard from Currents at all times, especially because of the vocals mixing. Invent Animate has the best Ambients in the scene right now and they can't just deny that there's something special and unique about this album and about the previous works of the band! Even though this album have got a lot of stuff that you probably have already heard, but it takes all the best from modern metalcore and connects it together with this album covered in a heavenly layer of ambients and emotions. Invent Animate is now on the same level as Northlane and Loathe for me and they fucking deserve it working so hard for many years and improving their sound, much love ❤

Heavener is undoubtedly Marcus’ Stillworld. When Stillworld was released, it was a lot more lyrically and instrumentally heavy than Everchanger so it felt like the band had evolved back then and found their sound, at least in my opinion. As soon as I listened to this album back to back, I knew Marcus got more comfortable with his vocal delivery and lyrics, so it also felt like IA evolved even more compared to Greyview, without losing their essence. Now instrumentally speaking, it’s like Keaton had to let it all out for this one. I could feel the grieve and the anger through his guitar work. Heavener all around exceeded my expectations.

Respect! Appreciate the rawness and vulnerability. Only two albums evoke genuine emotion in me aswell, it is "the way it ends" by Currents and "Heavener" by Invent. The hardest album to listen to from an emotional perspective is "I won't survive" by Convictions. It is the heaviest albums emotionally and musically. Strongly recommend @drewfortune.
