You inspired me and I bought this whole set up! I hope to get fit in 2024!

X3 is the bar I use and really like it. 76 yrs old and been a gym rat most of my life. Bands so mush better than free weights!

The issue I'm having with bands is I keep moving too fast with them. I have to constantly remind myself "slow and controlled, slow and controlled" lol. Really appreciate this idea! May try this plan at some point! I've only been fully working out the last two months. My main focus has been diet.

Really good top on moving slower with them, especially in the stretched position.

Sometimes its really hard to do the chest press wrapped around behind your back. Especially if you go heavy to hit only 6-8 reps. Sometimes the band is sliding on your back . To keep it fixed, don't put it too low behind your shoulders, try to put it around the beginning of the tricpeps and focus on pushing only with your chest fibers, not your arms. Keep the pushing movement straight or slightly downward, then the band shouldn't slide around. Don't push upwards, because the band could slide of your shoulders!

If you are the creator of the GEKU bar, so far so good!

Do you feel like we are leaving gains on the table since resistance bands provide weak resistance in the lengthened position? Recently, there was a study that showed lengthened partials were very effective.

No, because it comes down to whether or not the intensity/fatigue was great enough to recruit all the motor units of the muscle. If this is achieved, the body will attempt to build muscle at rest as long as enough is provided (genetics playing a big part in individual recovery). I personally do 2 partial reps (see attached link to recent video) to make sure I reached momentary muscle failure and that I could not do another full rep: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b2fbaJudq86Zp80

I wanted to let you know that the GEKU FIT bar on Amazon is now unavailable. It looks like most of their bar offerings disappeared before today. Do you think we should wait for it to restock or try making the DIY option you suggested before. I am the same height, so I was hoping for the narrower GEKU FIT bar that you recommended.

I like the GEKU bar a lot. I also like my old INNSTAR bar, but if you can hold off to get the GEKU, I would. I am doing a 90 day test starting 1/1/2024 to hard test it and bands in general, so we will see what it is like after that.

Would you happen to have links to the long versions of these basic ones?

Hmmm not sure what you mean. I only know of the regular GEKU bar in this video. From what I see, the other bars are a bit different, but maybe they have something else?

What do you do if your step platform doesn't have grooves (space) for your bands to go under neath?
@GamerBody Жыл бұрын
You could try using it, but I think they would get "stuck" on the bottom and not even out as you setup the exercise. I personally wouldn't go with that.

@@GamerBody Bummer. Not really looking to spend another $30 + to replace step. Is the pressure with band under the step different than standing on with my feet ? What does the groove under the step make better?
@GamerBody Жыл бұрын
The groove just keep the band from "sticking" to the floor. This way your wont get the band stuck between the bottom of the step and the floor, as the groove allows for some space to setup the bands to move freely until they are at the level you want.

Why arent you using the undersun bands anymore?

The Sunpow are cheaper and I want people to save money. I used them a long time ago and they were fine, but I do think the quality is a little higher with the UnderSun - BUT, they are 2x the cost. Im running a 90 day test with Sunpow to see how they hold up and if I will stick with them. So far so good.
