I gotta lose weight to keep my CDL in good standing. The bar, bands and platform came in last week and I just ran through this workout. I think I'm gonna stick with this. I'll let you know what the doc says when I go back in about 5 months.

My bands and bar came from amazon, this is the still the plan I like the best that I can find. I just subbed in the bar where it made sense. My first time using bands, man what a workout, I think I had more pump than using weights. Cheers man!

Yeah I've also found myself getting some solid workouts with the bands and bar. Keep it up :)

Very good video. Hits every muscle group, and lots of room for variations. That's why I love bands; their cheap, versatile and effective. I've been using bands for a while now, and the only thing I'd recommend is not to be strict with the reps. Just go 2-3 reps away from failure. With regular weights you can say "45lbs for 16 reps" but bands vary each time you use them. Every inch of slack in the band makes a noticeable difference, so your next set will not be the same as your previous one. Just know which bands tension to use for the exercise, and have a rough idea of how many reps you're shooting for (eg. bend over rows with heavy band, 15-25 reps), then go close to failure.
@GamerBody4 жыл бұрын
Yeah there is definitely more of a "feel" to the banda to find proper resistance. I still label mine at 10 lb increments to make it easy and then change feet/anchor placement from there.
@Ramesiel3 жыл бұрын
@@GamerBody Could you explain a bit more about how exactly you label them? How do you know where 10lb increments are? What did you use to label the bands? Did you just write on them with a permanent marker or something? This woul'd be a big help for consistency between workouts! Did you already cover that in a video somewhere? I've been watching a lot of your videos but didn't see that covered.

For this, It won't be exact, it's just so I can record it and know what options I picked the previous workout. It looks something like: X-small: 10 Small: 20 Medium: 30 Large: 40 X-large: 50 Then if I use 2 at once I add them together. However, when adding together, I always have a 50 (x-large) + the one added. This way I'm not matching some strange setup together. So 70 would be a X-large + Small band I hope that helps :)

I'm really enjoying the series. I recently purchased the Undersun Fitness bands but also have the sunpow ones from Amazon. How frequently should you be doing each of the workouts? Daily? Every other day?
@GamerBody3 жыл бұрын
I'm testing a 2 workout per week right now with the resistance bands setup I have. I made some slight changes to exercises (swapped bent over rows for seated rows) and so far so good. I aim to go to failure on set 1 but will add a 2nd or 3rd set if I feel I did not properly reach failure. I'll be testing it until the new year to see the results.

Really enjoy your videos. Planning on starting your workout plan on your website next week! Is there a version you recommend (2.0 or earlier) if we have a bench/dip stand already + dumbbells, resistance bands, pull up bar? Saw that you're trying to cut down on equipment in your newer plans, but since I already have it, wanted to take advantage of it!
@GamerBody4 жыл бұрын
yeah go for 2.0 now and I am working on possible adding in the bench again for 2.1 as I feel some of those are still great exercises in there. It will be similar to it with some tweaks. You can add the bench to exercises that could easily use it like Floor Press to Bench Press and Split Squat to Bulgarian Split Squat. Nothing is locked so feel free to add in where you think it will work better for you.

Hi can you show how exactly you set the band at the feet for Lateral raises. Better still how to do both sides at the same time thanks
@GamerBody2 жыл бұрын
I can make an updated version in the future. For now, you can stand directly on it (shoes recommended) and do the lateral raise as normal. I use J handles now as well for some comfort.

Could you do more food related videos? What you eat, meal prep, etc.
@GamerBody4 жыл бұрын
I made one a little while back as I don't meal prep or do anything. I just eat 3 times a day, aim to hit protein target of 150 grams per day and adjust based on goals. I may still make a vid to explain, but my diet isn't really structured compared to most fitness enthusiasts. Main reason is things change all the time in life so I can't ever stick to a plan. I try my best during the work week to keep things simple and small targets and it works well.

Is there a substitution for the split squats to help build up to it? Trying to work my way up to it as my knees aren't quite what they use to be.

Have you tried it without weight bands? You can also start with bodweight squats holding a doorframe for balance and focus on control through the entire range of motion.

Can these resistance bands replace dumbbells?
@GamerBody4 жыл бұрын
Depends. They have a different strength curve so I personally use both, but if you are limited on space or equipment that will definitely get the job done. They can be awkward in some exercises but other than that they have worked well so far.
@rinkuhero4 жыл бұрын
hmm, even though this says full body, only one of the six exercises is for the lower body, 5/6th of the exercises are for the upper body (so you'd be doing upper body 83% of the time and lower body 17% of the time with this). this seems a bit imbalanced but i haven't seen all three, perhaps the other two will have more than one lower body exercise per workout.
@GamerBody4 жыл бұрын
Your lower body will get enough work don't worry about it. Just make sure you challenge yourself in it. Legs grow so fast as they are large muscle groups so you can quickly look ridiculous if you try to match upper and lower. There may be some genetic variation, but many people only do a few lower body and get great results and focus mostly upper.

For the lateral raise what band do you use? And do you know what the equivalent lbs dumbell would be?
@GamerBody4 жыл бұрын
I'm using the UnderSun resistance bands right now. For dumbbells I usually use around 20 lbs and these feel similar when at the top of the Rep but the bands are a bit easier on the shoulders.

What’s the highest length you can stretch a band without risking it snapping?
@GamerBody2 жыл бұрын
I'm not certain on how far. I am 5'11" and I never stretch it more than my height with arms extended overhead. This includes putting it in my doorway. I did a quick review online, and someone did post to never stretch it more than 2.5x its length.
@gerardov96932 жыл бұрын
@@GamerBody Gotcha, yeah I’ve been hearing 2.5 is the general rule. Have you ever double looped the band and gone above the hips like with curls with a light band or front squat. Do you think it would withstand that much of a stretch or should you always just stop at hip height when double looping like you’ve said in one of your videos. Can’t remember which video it was haha.
@GamerBody2 жыл бұрын
@@gerardov9693 I only single-loop the band if I do anything above the waist. Just a rule I follow to avoid any snapping. I just add more bands if needed.

Is this workout for building muscle or more on toning?
@GamerBody4 жыл бұрын
They are one and the same. To tone, you have to build muscle and simply lose body fat. If you are looking to build large amounts of muscle it can help assist you getting there, but I enjoy additional equipment like pull-up bars and dumbbells to help as well.
@thrashdeath28794 жыл бұрын
@@GamerBody thanks for the reply man! I have a pair of 10 kg dumbells but they are too light for bench press now, im thinking of getting loop bands to increase the resistance, and also, can you review innstar resistance bands? Its an interesting product, it comes with a bar for bench and squats, and other accessories
@GamerBody4 жыл бұрын
@@thrashdeath2879 i'll take a look into them. The bands could help and you could move to push-ups as well. You can definitely keep getting stronger, but the strength curve is different than a standard free weight. I like to use both throughout my training week.
