Tryfan Wild Camp (for my mum)

When Phoebe Smith lost her mum to cancer in 2001, on her bequest, she scattered her ashes on a mountain called Tryfan in Snowdonia National Park, North Wales, UK.
Losing someone close to you is very hard and every year she finds Mother's Day particularly difficult. But in 2017 with Mother's Day (26th March - in Britain) coinciding with British Summer Time, where the clocks go forward and we lose an hour of our time it took on some extra significance.
And so she decided that instead of staying inside and mourning her death, she would instead celebrate her life by getting outside and paying a special visit to her mum's mountain, camping the evening before on Tryfan's lower flanks, to be on the top in time for sunrise.

Hi there Phoebe - I found this a very touching outing that resonated with me deeply. I know how much closer you can feel to the people you loved and have lost in the places they held dear. I lost my twin brother Paul last November and I feel closest to him when out hiking the outdoors he found life affirming. Your mum is in the non physical angelic realms - no that. She will seek to reach you through the obvious and the subtle. The gentlest of winds or through a gust. If you would like to know my dear brother there are some good tribute videos on the Wye Explorer channel and a good last hike on the River Trothy - all free will mind. Thank you Phoebe. I was inspired by your outing up your mums mountain. You're right 7 billion of us will go through loss at some point. But it's our personal tragedy, which we can indeed share discovering common ground as we go. For sure Paul is outside swimming, hiking, camping and loving the nature.....
