I felt this, pal. I walk my dog at least three times a day by necessity, but if I'm able to do housework on top of that then I'm having a great day. I can't do most workouts because they're too high impact, but I really, REALLY appreciate Sleepy Santosha yoga videos because she does "spoonie yoga" routines for people like us. She deals with chronic pain herself and it impacts how she teaches. And you're right, Zack does look better! He's always had a great attitude about AS for a Try Guy, in that he doesn't push himself to unhealthy limits for the sake of keeping up with his friends. Knowing your limits, taking care of your mental health, and finding joy and humor wherever possible are exactly the kind of behaviors younger spoonies need in a role model.

The practise of jumping into icy water from a hot sauna is thousands of years old Finnish tradition, that is still alive in moder-day Finland. We make an avanto, hole into the ice of a lake or sea and swim there, swapping between sauna and water. It makes miracles to your blood circulation, mixed with vihta/vasta, a tied-up bunch of young birch sprigs that you beat your body with. It exfoliates dead skin, cleans it and improves blood circulation. In addition, this is all sacred and spiritual in our folklore, sadly the spas around the world don't respect sauna's roots.

I know this is a very late comment and unlikely to be seen, but seriously - Zach, THANK YOU for sharing your chronic pain journey. I'm another spoonie and have been dealing with the worst fibromyalgia flare of my life for over a month now. None of my usual go-tos were working to ease the pain, but while wracking my brain I remembered this video series and decided it was worth trying some of the things you'd mentioned. I found a float center near me and dear lord - I can't even begin to express the amount of relief having my pain drop so extremely after an hour session brought. And I never would have even known to search for something like that if it weren't for this video. So seriously - thank you, and keep being awesome 💖

I really, truly wish that something like isolation tanks were easily accessible to the general public. First off, I would also love to have a tub that I actually fit in, which is saying something because I'm SO much smaller than Keith (I'm 5'1 ffs!), which really says something about how annoyingly small bathtubs are. Why can't we lie down fully in bathtubs!? It also just would genuinely be so nice to be able to meditate and relax in a way that really appeals to such basic instincts.........sighs.
