A few helpful tips: 1. Put dry shampoo or powder on the wigs to give it a less shiny/plasticy look 2. Tweeze some hairs out of the hairline to make it appear more natural (that's what the plucking was referring to) 3. Get some bronzer or eyeshadow and dark then roots a bit to give it that "shadow root" look that most natural hair has. 4. If you want to dye it or change the color, use clothing dye for synthetic fabric. A popular one is Rit Dye. You put it in hot water and dunk the wig in. For the orange wig, you could probably get a brown dye, and dilute it a lot then dip the wig in to give it a slight brown tint making it less vibrant! Hope these tips help 😊

My daughter lost all of her hair at the age of 4 years due to lupus. Over her first 20 years we (and the high school band boosters) had human hair wigs made. @BobbieRae12 жыл бұрын
@@allana1997 It's about density - how much hair is tied to the wig cap. 110-120% density is low density, 130-140% is natural density and 150%+ is high density. Most wigs sit at around 130% which for me, who had super thick hair before I started losing my hair, that feels very thin. It's not heavy at all. But it's ultimately down to what you like and prefer.

hi!! tips from being a cosplayer -- to remove shine - wash with fabric softener, rinse and let air dry - adding baby podwer to the root and then brushing down the length helps a lot! dry shampoo can also work styling - only use heat tools on VERY LOW heat - it won't style like normal hair, it's more like heatforming and molding plastic. so for example, straightening to get the hair warm and malliable and then wrapping it around a *not hot* curling barrel until it cools will curl it, but a curling iron won't rly do anything general tips - even tho your hair is very short so you don't need a wig cap to put the wig on, a wig cap will still help it look more natural! get a skin toned pantyhose one, it'll make the experience less itchy and makes it easier to hide the hair line in the front - brush the ends first, adding small amounts of length working upwards to avoid frizzing/breakage - heating the wig around the roots and top with a straightener or low-heat curling barrel and flattening it to your head will make it look less poofy and more natural - if you want to dye the wig, use rit synthetic dye!! hope this helps :)

Some wigs I’ve found that are synthetic, naturally shed a little when you brush it for the first time. I’d say it’s something to expect and is normal. Also most wigs, I’d say almost every wig, comes with longer bangs. It’s so the customer can trim them to their desired length since some ppl have larger foreheads than others and vise versa. I feel you’d have felt a lot happier with some of the wigs if you had taken the time to trim the bangs. I hope in your feature videos you do this so you can have the full experience of putting on a wig and falling in love with it without trying to adjust the hairline a weird way to have the bangs not poke you in the eyes. As a fellow wig lover, I look forward to the rest of your series and seeing your wig journey

As a long time wig wearer (alopecia) First thing you should do when taking a wig out of the box. Shake vigorously. It will bounce into pre set style. Also for the real shinny ones. Desolve a healthy amount (1 cup give or take) of baking soda in lukewarm water and wash hair in this for a couple minutes. Can even soak in it for 5 minutes. Rinse well and let drip dry. You can wash as you go later. And watch a few plucking videos. Love you Alex ❤❤❤❤❤

For the "Daenerys" wig, you definitely need to have a wig cap on so it pulls your hair all the way back and makes it easier to sit on your hairline. For the price, these actually are actually pretty good, especially right out of the packaging. You're right in saying that someone who has a lot of experience could really make these look great.

Synthetic wigs can’t be dyed with hair dye, but they can be dyed using fabric dye for synthetic materials! There are a bunch of great tutorials here on KZbin, but essentially you follow the instructions on the fabric dye bottle and treat the wig like you’d treat fabric. Trimming the bangs should help a lot with the way you find they look, as well as thinning out the bits around your face so they’re less bulky (creating some face framing layers is always my go to). I recommend taking some thinning shears to them to help with the bulk as well 😊 For wigs without bangs that just have the really blunt parting, I find that turning them slightly so they’re more of a side part instead of a middle part can help sell the illusion better. You can also use a hair dryer to lightly heat up the fibres and adjust the direction that they fall.

To remove the overly shiny effect on a wig; fill a sink or large bowl with water and add a couple of tablespoons of your fabric softener. Give the wig a few minutes to soak in the solution and then gently comb through the wig using your fingers. Remove the wig from the water and allow it to dry as you normally would (lay it flat on a towel or sit it on a wig head and don't rub it with the towel) I also have to agree with the comments suggesting a wig cap. You can get them in different colours and I like to use flesh toned ones for my lighter wigs and black for my darker ones. Since you don't have very long hair it should be very easy for you to pop them on, longer hair requires braiding to get it all in. Dyeing synthetic wigs is a coveted dark art. It usually requires synthetic dyes which need pots of boiling water on a hob and stirring. The problem is that the pot then stops being food safe which might not be ideal since you got nice new ones recently! Hope this helps!

To help make cheap wigs look better there is a few things you can do, give them a slight root shadow with darker eyeshadow that will help the blonde and pink ones, as nobodies hair grows that colour out the scalp, you can also use dry shampoo or talc to take away the shine. To help the long ones and shape them a little more you may want to look at drag wig tutorials but with some backcombing at the roots and sculpting the hair where you want them with hairspray and pins.

You can fix the wig shine by using dry shampoo. You can also use translucent powder to remove extra shine but dry shampoo sticks better. Also also you can use baby powder for lighter wigs and baby powder with bit of unsweetened cocoa powder mixed in for darker wigs (cocoa powder does make them smell amazing) but again it just doesn't stick as well as dry shampoo. For wigs that have skintone that doesn't match yours at the hair part, use foundation powder in your skintone to fix it. Additionally using a powder (like eyeshadow or bronzer or blush) to darken the roots is great for more natural looks in everyday wear but can be detrimental for cosplaying sometimes. You can wash and refresh synthetic wigs to improve their condition by handwashing them in cold/lukewarm water with hair conditioner. Fill a container with lukewarm water, put in the wig, then plop hair conditioner on top of the wig into the water. Gently rock the wig in the water, bring it out and plop it back in. You can also squish and release the hair gently but leave the lace alone as much as possible and let the rocking of the water do all the hard work. Keep repeating similar motions, never wring the wig. Hang dry the wig upside down (hang it by the lace with all the hair hanging straight to the floor) for volume. Hair conditioner will make wigs smell nicer, be less shiny (unless it's extra shine conditioner), softer to the touch and tangle a lot less. It makes styling and wearing synthetic wigs much easier and also helps with the static too. If the fibers used to make the wig are extra staticky then use anti-static dryer sheets by simply rubbing one over the wig a few times. Don't use shampoo as it is a much harsher cleaning agent. Conditioners are just soft enough. p.s. you may not recommend that i do that to my misbehaving cat and yet... in all seriousness though i bend low and then yeet my cat, because making too many high jumps over time can make his little joints wear out faster. But I totally yeeet my cat (just closer to the floor) and let him sort himself out.

my biggest hack for synthetic/cosplay wigs is heating the cap the day before i want to wear it with my blow dryer and placing it on a wig stand to relax and cool. this relaxes the hair around the cap to help it lay flat and look more natural as well as (especially with super budget wigs) helps shape the cap after it was shipped or stored for a while. For long wigs, liquid spray in conditioner helps with the tangles on the length, i spray it on the ends and use a tangle teaser to GENTLY brush it through while its still on the stand. You can drop curls out of a wig with a blow dryer, small sections work best to avoid tangles, always going from root to end. lastly, i trim all the bangs on my cosplay wigs to fit my hairline and face which often means making the bangs wider. a good pair of pointed hair scissors is a must and slowly point cutting the bangs (lots of patience) as it takes several on the head, off and back on again while cutting on a stand to really get it right. cutting on my head has never worked for me T-T. best of luck! i am looking forward to the series

its so nice to see you in this video, extremely excited about what you're filming!! i loved the second pink wig for a "fun" look/outfit but for regular.daily wear the brown wig with the darker eyebrows was very stunning. the second orange wig was also very nice on you for a more daily/casual wig!!!!

The 2nd one (short pink) is sooooo gorgeous, and looks quite natural. For 15 bucks it's a steal.

Trimming the wigs to fit your bone structure can help, as well as sometimes using baby powder to dull the shine, and adding concealer to the seam to add skin color to the part. It’ll help it look less like a wig and more like a natural hair part. Use wide tooth combs to help style, don’t use brushes or thin tooth combs. It’ll pull the hair out of the set curl pattern and make it tangled and frizzy. I’d love to see you do a video or two about trying to doctor the wigs to fit your needs

Why be so surprised of those wig’s prices when they come from shein? We know why they are cheap. It surprises me to see you support this brand.

Please stop working with Shein. I’m sure there’s probably a contract involved but please do not renew or continue business relations with this horrible company any longer than you have to. It hurts so many people to keep promoting this business and it hurts my heart that I can’t in good faith watch a majority of your videos

She knows. She doesn't care. I've argued with her on instagram before and she's more interested in the money than unethical labor practices.

@@taylor34 That really is a shame. She was so inspiring for coloring my own ginger hair. Another channel to add to the do not watch list I suppose. Thank you for sharing your experience in trying

That second pink wig you tried on looks just like one I bought a few years ago when everything was shutdown. I wore it with a headband so I could wrap and tighten. It pulled the hair back and made it more secure on my head. I also look for wigs that can take some heat so I could restyle it if I wanted. I'm a total novice at it, but I usually use scarves and hats wearing them.

The bob wigs in black, pink and orange looked the best, i think the long orange wig looks good too, id just straighten the fringe on the lowest heat with your straightner

1. Take from box and shake hard. 2. Get a metal wig brush 3. Expect to have to cut and style with straighteners etc (test for heat first, but most synthetic wigs can take heat). 4. Pluck partings and edges (loads of vids on this) 5. Don’t use hair dye, clothes dye works on some wigs, but a marker can put in a shadow root OR eye makeup. 6. Dry shampoo is a quick shine fix. 7. A lot of hairdressers will “fit a wig” for you and trim/thin it. Head bands, scarfs and hats can make a crap wig look good if it’s un-fixable

plucking refers to taking bits of the wig around the hairline and bring out small bits to make it look more natural. alot of the wigs that sit farther back on your head work better with the natural color caps that blend into your skin without looking like your wearing a cap. alot of synthetic wigs will shed a bit at first and the first brushing, its pretty normal, but they also need a good dry shampoo run, it helps make them less fake shiny and more of a somewhat natural shine. you can also soak them in bath (not sure of the mixture) that will soften them as well taking away the super shinny look. if your getting wigs with bangs they will normally make them longer in production so you as a customer can trim them to the length that you like.
