I’ve done this technique heaps (but using a bathrobe tie or silk scarf) and have some tips! Your hair was far too wet. Your hair should be 90% dry- basically nearly completely dry. Also, you need to take smaller sections when you wrap, also wrap them higher up (otherwise your are just going to have a curl at the ends of your hair!)
@PrettyPastelPlease3 жыл бұрын
thank you so much!!!
@nellebelly153 жыл бұрын
I wanted to add a tip also. Don’t grab section and then bring them up to wrap higher, grab a higher section (like the top of your head) start to wrap that and before you have wrapped it all the way grab the next section and start to wrap...grab the next section...and so on
@hkandm4s233 жыл бұрын
@@PrettyPastelPlease yes it's much easier to start with dry hair and spritz it with a tiny bit of water or curling lotion. And make sure you brush it well and wrap it smoothly. 👍 good luck 💜

I love that shade of pink on you! 🤩 but pastel shades are always perfect on you as well, of course. A tip that maybe helps with the hair not drying: when the strands get a lot of porosity, regulate the situation with apple vinegar and it will make the hair cuticle look and feel better! I also have pink hair and usually do this trick two times a month to keep the shine and make the color stand out more. If you want to look for a product that will do the same without the diy part, I recommend redken's bleach recovery line, specially the lamellar water.

I would love to see you try the Curly Girl Method because I can see your hair has a bit of a natural curl/wave - maybe when you try to restore your hair. There's also a hairdresser in Kellyville who's trained in curly hair who might be able to help. Also as a curly girl - never brush it! By brushing it out you're literally destroing the curls! 😅

I know you enjoy Hello bubble and damage is kind of a moot point by now, but since it has developer (usually 15-20 vol but not sure about this one specifically) it will still be causing damage to your hair. Leaving it in for hours may cause some pretty bad chemical damage. Deposit only dyes (ones that don’t require mixing with developer) will be better suited to the lengths, while products like boxed dye would be good to colour virgin roots. (Not trying to be super critical or anything, just passing on a warning and some info.)

I've had bleach blonde hair before, probably just as damaged as yours and IT WOULD NOT DRY! My hair was down to my belly button, and even if I DIDN'T put it in a hairstyle it would still take 6 hours to dry. If I braided my hair when it was wet, and removed the braids 12 hours later it would still be completely wet. When the hair is that damaged from bleach it holds on to the water like crazy. It is FRUSTRATING
@PrettyPastelPlease3 жыл бұрын
This is wild, it never occurred to me that it wasn’t drying because of the damage!! Makes so much sense now omg 😂❤️

It's because bleach strips your hair of all the moisture leaving it frizzy and prone to breakage and so it desperately clings to whatever moisture that you put back into it sometimes resulting in an incredibly slow drying process. A deep conditioning treatment might help bring back some of the moisture, but it won't restore it.

Sooo. The noodle isn't the problem :D If your hair is wet for that long, your hair is just incredibly damaged and holds on to any moisture it can. Which means, what we all already know, your hair is fried :D You could putting argan oil in you wet hair(DON'T put heat on it if you do that) and use deep conditioning masks. You one which gives moisture and another one with protein in it e.g. keratin. Aphogee has one I think which it made just for hair like yours, lol

I'd love to see you try an old school style foam roller set. I've found that they work really well for overnight curls especially on shorter hair, just start with barely damp hair & work a mousse or setting lotion through each section before rolling it up. There are a bunch of great tutorials available with the key words "vintage foam roller wet set" or some combination of those.

@@lindatannock I hated them when I was little too, but my hair doesn't respond to heat styling so I've kept at it. I've found that doing it myself is better. No more tugging or pulling too tight. Plus I can turn the little plastic arms down so they don't dig into my head all night.

Hairstylist tip! You have to blow dry your hair most of the way before wet styling! You know when your hair feels mostly dry but it's still cold and a little damp? That's about how dry you want you hair before put the curler/rollers in. Also a hair mouse in damp hair before styling would help give your hair a little hold so the curls stay longer it's kinda like hairspray but softer.

The cutest relationship between you and your friends ☺️ Also Sam sounds just like his dad and I do love your pants. I want them! To the people who think damaged hair won’t hold a curl that’s not the only reason. It’s also hair types. I rarely style my hair, air dry almost every time I shower and anytime I do try to curl it it never holds. It’s just my hair type. I have very fine hair which mean I have a lot of it even though it doesn’t look like it, add to my hair being rather long and it just means any curl falls right out. Ponytails, braids and buns are pretty much all I do 🤷♀️

When you're sitting under the hood dryer ,you need to push it down so go top of your head hits the top of the dryer inside .I used to have one exactly like that. Make sure it's on medium heat so it doesn't get too hard and then you can turn it on cold for a little while to lock in the curlers.

So excited for the olaplex video - i really owe them my hair at this point. It was bleach fried over many years, starting out as very thin. My hairdresser didnt dare dye it or it would snap off. With some olaplex treatments in the salon and at home my hair is now better than ever (and withstood dyeing). Its a comeback i never expected. Tip1 for using the 0 and 3 combo: make sure your hair is damp. Leave the 0 on for the 10 min it says on the bottle, but put it in a showercap. Than after put the 3 on the still damp hair and put the showercap back on. Than leave if for as long as you can. The olaplex molecule thing needs a wet enviroment so it works as long as your hair is damp. Therefore putting on a showercap extends the time it is working. Tip2: use a keratine type mask before the olaplex. It really seemed to make a difference for me - i hypotheses the keratine mask adds in extra protein to supplement what has been stripped from your hair, and than the olaplex “fixes” it to the hair. Since olaplex is a bondbuilder.

My advice would be to let your hair dry most of the way before you wrap, or let it dry completely before spritzing it with water or a leave in conditioner to slightly dampen it and then wrapping it qround the noodle. Apparently the more damaged the hair is, the longer it takes to dry. Also the closer together you wind the hair around the noodle, the more it'll hold on to the water. That's just an explanation of a possible reason, not berating you for dying your hair! I firmly believe that you should do whatever you want, it's YOUR hair and it will grow back, so express yourself however you want 💜

I've done this technique a lot with a bathrobe tie (mine is a sort of waffle towel material, which helps absorption). I have very straight and thin hair naturally, but I have found that I CAN get good results with quite wet hair IF I have the tie in for the whole day, as well as overnight without adjusting it. Also, same as what I've seen other comments say, I would suggest starting closer to the top of your head then wrapping. Hope this is somewhat helpful :)

Tips about using Head & Shoulders to fade your colour; slather your hair in it, more on your lengths than your roots (I’ve noticed you tend to put a lot of product on your scalp when you don’t need to) then add a wee bit of water and massage it all in so it’s all “emulsified” and then leave it. Leave for as long as you can. Preferably put a shower cap on so that you don’t dribble coloured water everywhere. I’ve used this method to fade colour so many times and it works 9 times out of 10, especially on darker colours. :)

Hello from vintage tube (we do a lot of wet-sets). Some hair types take a while to dry and it's quite possible that the damage to your hair is causing it to retain water, not oil, for an extended period. ALSO that material the hair noodle is looks non-absorbent so that would increase drying time around the noodle (hair touching air dries but hair touching noodle doesn't). If you want to use the noodle again I might suggest a full day drying time in the noodle instead of just overnight OR just use a scarf (of a breathable material such as cotton or a light wool) circled up to about the thickness of the noodle width.
