The first koobeedah shop (known) was actually Rusholme Chippy. Most in Rusholme learnt from the late (rip) owner who even taught all the Indian restaurants in that region to use fresh crisp lettuce. The famous red chilly sauce originates also from there also.

hi brother, I'm from Iran and you should have had the gormehsabzi with the rice haha, it's a stew, that doesn't work out well with naan/bread, for me it's one of my favorite Persian dishes, anyways I love the content man, and just subscribed. keep it up

Back in the day (ya Allah I can't believe I am using that phrase), I used to go to this place in Longsight called Al Aqsa, and have kobeda + Qabuli. And if you didn't go early enough they did used to get sold out by 8:30-9:00 pm

Good video Ali - they were definitely tight on the portions of meat!. If your around Levenshulme try A Star Shawarma. Had their homemade lamb donner and it was amazing!

Ghormet(Ghormeh) Sabzi has also some beans and some «Citrus aurantifulia», which drastically make flavour for it. I'm not sure that even the types and the ratio of the herbs are truly respected in that Ghormeh Sabzi.

Try Choupan in cheetham hill. I think you will really like it - the koeba is similar to this if not better but the other dishes such as the lamb shank are really on point.

There definitely a mixture of cultures. Turkiye, Iran and Afghanistan share borders. Iran and Afghanistan share border and they share a dialect as well called Dari. Which is a mixture of farsi and pashto. Before the 80s people would travel between all these countries very easily.

Dari is not a mix of Pashto and Farsi. It’s just Farsi spoken with a different accent - like a British person and American person having a conversation.

Kabooli pilua. 😂 Its Kabul, yes as in the city in Afghanistan, then "ee", so kabul-we pilau. The koo-bee-dah with chicken was most likely joo-jeh.

For authentic persian food, and koobeedah like this, try Darbar in cheetham Hill. Bare in mind, every country has its own palate, so the white saffron rice which is always served with the meats, most Asians will find bland due to lack of knowledge, let's just say.🙄 But the for persian cuisine beyween top 2 in Manchester, walnut and darbar, Darbaar wins hands down.

Qabuli Palou hasn't got dall!!! Dall is Pakistani. Kubodeh has no chicken at all. Whom ever got this takeaway just fuck with our food. You don't believe me ask an Afghan or Iranian. This takeaway is no where near an Afghan or Iranian Iranian food.
