Great demo. I've been loyal to Arturia for years, I routinely throw money at them for new V-collection releases and also own 4 of their midi controllers from Keystep all the way up to the Keylab 88 MKII. I think this may be my favorite review of any of the analog lab/v-collections on KZbin that I've seen. The jam just makes it, great way to showcase the capabilities. Kudos!

great demo! This was exactly what I was hoping to find for Collection 9, specifically the CS-80. I have been eyeing the Synclavier and the CS-80 for awhile. Just been waiting for a 50% off sale, which is finally here. I pulled the trigger on the Synclavier which I have been in awe of since the 90s (a 90s era Frank Zappa interview turned me onto it), and I think this made up my mind to get the CS 80. Cheers

As an existing Arturia customer, I was able to bag this as a ‘cross-grade’ for around £340. That’s around a tenner per synth more or less, which is absolute insanity! I think I spent about 2 hours just making the MS-20 filter squawk… The Dispersion controls are incredible, very impressed indeed. Great demo Alex, you do them justice!

Awesome compositions. I would say to use all these Arturia instruments, it is helpful to actually buy and practice on a hardware synth so that you know what to reach for with the mouse. Clearly you know synthesis bro;)

I don’t know what it’s like to play a real cs80 but I think V3 (which I use a lot) has a beautiful melancholic tone that seems to have been lost in V4 which is much crisper.

The new Cherry Audio GX-80’s interface seems a lot more cluttered than this Arturia one. I held off on the GX-80 because I wasn’t impressed with the early KZbin demos. I’m sure they’ll get better. But I hadn’t really explored the limited version in Analog Lab V. Once I did, I decided to go ahead and get the full V Collection 9-taking advantage of the Black Criday $200 discount.

Same first impression on the Cherry Audio. The interface is tough to focus on. Im adhd and really struggle wit( that sort of thing. I bought it anyways and it honestly blew the Arturia out of the water sound wise. I was hoping the v9 update would get up in the GX-80 area but it didnt do even half of what I had hoped. They are both cool but Get the Cherry Audio too! It immediately became a favorite!

I've been very disappointed with everyone else's demonstrations of these synths. Yours sounds so much better. Maybe recording technique? KZbin conversion? Whatever it is, this video is miles ahead in quality. Although your actual voice-over sounds average 🤔 Would you care to share your audio capture setup?

From Mylar: "Thanks! It's captured totally internally so you're not hearing any conversion or preamps except on my mic input. There is Brainworx BX_Masterdesk on the output with fairly default settings, which might be helping just bring things up to a consistent level throughout, and a smidge of EQ (Fabfilter Pro Q3 mainly to try and tame the crazy resonance peaks) and a touch of compression. The plugins are mainly manually level adjusted throughout. No 'betterisers' like tape simulation or anything, just Comp, EQ and Masterdesk, and even so its main role is in bringing things up to level."

Definitely. We'd recommend using Analog Lab (which you get with it) as it's a great way of accessing all the presets and sound engines in V-Collection from one unified interface!

The intro offer price in GBP is £419 RRP. You get 32 plugins with V-Collection 9, so even at the non-intro RRP of £519, that makes it around £16.22 per plugin, where most of them are available separately for a minimum of £99 each.

@@larrypoulton6401 Maybe you just got lucky, or Arturia has realised that theft is a crime! I tried to make a purchase from Arturia's web-shop, some time ago, for the amount of €168. Everything was correct through the check-out procedure, until Arturia tried to withdraw €498 from my bank acount behind my back. When I pointed this out to Arturia, they did not offer any explanation or excuse. They accused me of making unfounded accusations! They may de unfounded in Arturias mind, but they are NOT undocumented. My bank agrees with me, that this is a clear cut case of card fraud. The only reason that they failed to steal the money is that I've got an extra security layer on my bank account to prevent this kind of fraud. It's up to you if you trust buying from Arturia, but I definitely DON'T!
