Goodnight Moon - this book is a must! I remember my dad reading this to us so we created the tradition with our daughters. They are now 28 & 26. Still no grandchildren to share this with but we give it to all the little babies in our lives. They sell it in a tiny board book so little hands can hold it. It is about a little bunny getting ready for bed. It is a fun story for you and your little baby to share in the poetry of the words. Still to this day my daughters and I can repeat the lines together. Super Super Sweet!

Book Suggestions: Sign up for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. Your little man will get a book each month for free until he turns 5. As for ones I enjoyed reading to my kids you'll never go wrong with good night moon, if you give a mouse a cookie or the little engine that could.

Anything by Eric Carle: “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see?” was my oldest sons favorite. He would cry when I would get to the end because he knew it was done. I had to read it several times. There are more to the series like; “Baby Bear, Baby Bear, What do you see?” and “Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What do you hear?” Carle also has a book called “The Very Hungry Caterpillar”

For the first year, I would say to make sure to stock up on those fabric/soft books and those hard cardboard ones (like the borwn bear book you got) because the paper ones would be harder to turn the pages for the little hands, and also decrease book tearing/ wrinkling fiascoes :) but those are already fun books to start off with!

Books are so fun!! Don't forget about heading to your local library for storytimes and book check outs when the little guy gets a smidge older! Anyway our favorites are, 'My Truck is Stuck', Click Clack Moo, Good Night Steam Train, Give a Mouse a Cookie, The Little Engine that Could, just to name a few. Also, check into the Dolly Parton Imagination Library and see if your area is a part of this program. If it is, your little guy will get a book every month from birth to 5. Again, your local library should know more!

Teddy was SO excited to hear you ask for book suggestions... in his first four and a half years, there are books that we have been reading him since the very beginning, and are STILL favorites of both Teddy and parents: “I Love You, Stinky Face” “Little Blue Truck” “Little Pea” All are so much fun to read for the parent and perennial favorites for Teddy. We also love Karma Wilson’s “Bear” books, which are brilliantly written rhythmic poetry stories, and *everything* by Ben Clanton.

Being a recently retired nursery school teacher for pre-K, the Mo Willems books are great, as well as the books by Judith Byron Schachter ("Skippyjon Jones" etc.). The Froggy books are also hysterical...all written by Jonathan London. Tim and Jen (and baby makes 3) will adore all these, especially when baby Tracker hits age 4 or so.

I agree with "I Love You Stinky Face" such a fun, sweet one! My son is older and still loves it. Also a couple other favorites were and still are.... "On The Night You Were Born" and "Wherever You Are, my love will find you"

“Ducks don’t wear socks” by John Nedwidek - huge laugh every time. “Bear snores on” by Karma Wilson - I always tear up at the ending. 😊
