The thing about mont hin ga (the fish noddle you had) it has a thick texture so it dries out if you don't eat it straight away, so I'd suggest don't wait long or leave it to the size. It's meant to be eaten quick while its hot and still has broth.

I had no idea we had a Burmese restaurant in Los Angeles. I have been always going to Burma Star in San Francisco. I'll have to check it out. The food looks amazing. I wonder if they have the Rainbow Salad?

Not sure, but the website has all the menu information.

What is the Rainbow Salad? It sounds interesting
@richardt1792 Жыл бұрын
@@loralforde4823 A rainbow salad is rows of colorful vegetables. Its blended together at your table by the server then topped with a dressing. Its usually served to two or more diners. I've only had it at Burma Superstar in San Francisco.

Steve, you ordered a bunch of dishes but the sad part is that they did not show you how to eat properly. You were eating without mixing the ingredients in most dishes except except samosas, puffs and shrimp curry. Mohinga and the the Khaukswe should have been thoroughly mixed before consuming. As for their Biryani, it is their version and not thoroughly authentic. Overall, I am glad you liked the food. Cheers!

My former Myanmar colleague made the best Mohinga using Filipino milkfish (Bangus). It was the stuff of dreams! Here in California, I’m still trying to find a good restaurant version. Even in San Francisco where there are several famous Burmese restaurants, it hasn’t been the same. The one you tried looks close.

I am from Burma, ethnic Karen. The tea leaves salad is a must have and fish noodle (mon hin kar) is every one favorite. Each ethnic makes the soup, the broth, differently. By the way, many of our food are influenced by Thai, Indian, and Chinese.

Thank you for this video. Just a little correction if I may, the chicken soup noodle is actually Coconut Noodles made with chicken and looks like you need more gravy and mixed them well, only then you get the real taste of that noodles. Also for fish soup that you call is Mokhingar made with fish and chickpeas. It is burmese famous dish and you need to add more gravy and mix well to get the real taste for that too. That was what I was thinking, watching when you were eating, but not sure if others will agree. Thank you.
