As someone who's obsessed with Japan I love that you guys are there on holiday. And I love beef tongue!! It's a great cut of meat and so good. I wish more restaurants here had it on the menu. I hope you have a fun trip and look forward to more travel vids.❤😊

I have not had beef tongue in years. My Mom would buy kosher beef tongue. She would boil it then remove the outer skin. It would then be sliced and barbecued. We would fight over the first 4 to 6 inches of the tongue because that was the most tender part. I may have to go get one😁.

I think the kdrama _In Your Heart_ (if I remember the name correctly) the female protagonist hated eating alone. The male protagonist trained her by having her to a solo eating restaurant. Also in the kdrama _Let’s Eat_ (first one) the female protagonist complains about eating alone and how she can’t eat bbq solo. That’s how she and the male protagonist end up having a relationship, ie to eat out.

if you ever travel to the US or Mexico or an legit Mexican place opens in Seoul and you see "LENGUA" on the menu, order it! It's the Spanish word for tongue and MY FAVE of all time! They always make it super tender.

Fun fact: Japanese BBQ is actually just Korean BBQ. Koreans introduced it to Japan during the 1940's. Japan literally used to call it "Korean food" until the 1960's. Then they changed the name and started calling it yakiniku (grilled meat). But Japan never had a history of meat grilling culture or this style of cooking and eating. This is Korean food culture.
