Chile has like 3 types of food. The central valley food, which is what you mostly ate. It's safe to say that is actually typical chilean food. There's also the fish and seafood in general, as it's own type of food, you should try it...it's great. And then you have southern food, which is more complicated, like curanto...no one actually eats that on a daily basis, but they're delicious as well.

Historical tip: its called poor stake because of the modest ingredients of it, during pacific war (the chilean one 1879-1883) it became a really popular dish because its cheap, tasty and filling

You don't know the first thing of it. We eat bread with every meal, you have a bakery on every corner were you buy fresh bread when you need it. We are the second country that eats more bread. You have several types of true bread, the most common is marraqueta (similar to a bagette), and some bread like foods, like empanadas or sopaipillas. If you want to insult a chilean, you give them sliced bread... man, now I want some bread.

As a Chilean I can tell you we eat bread 🥖 at least 3 times a day. For breakfast, lunch and “once” which means “eleven” at around 5pm. and then of course dinner. In short, we are bread addicts.

Nice video! Everything looks great, but the Bistec a lo pobre is not "authentic", but a peruvianized version of it. Onion should be sliced thin and slowly cooked in order it gets caramel color. Meat should be much thicker in order to be a bistec, also. Rice is not cannon, neither. BTW: people that don't know how to keep secrets are called "little avocado sandwich", do you get it?

I´m chilean and I've NEVER seen a Lomo a lo pobre with rice, is not how we prepare it, maybe this is mixed with peruvian food, and in a lomo a lo pobre the onion are thinnly sliced and fried until caramel brown and the beef is thicker, and there is NO SOY SAUCE in our cousine, soy souce started being implemented in like 2010', with the mass introduction of asian food. The lomo a lo pobre sauce has garlic, onions, pepper, salt, merken, oregano, maybe some wine, all cook on the meat with some liquid.

The name if this restaurant is "chilenazo", its means like you are so proud to be from Chile... But I see a lot of kind of dishes, the mayority is from Perú. 02:26 all dishes "a lo pobre", tallarín saltado, ceviche, ají de gallina, arroz chaufa, chupe de almejas, all "saltado de...", chorrillana, humitas, are peruvian dishes. Ok I know even chileans dont know about their dishes, but, please, chilean Friends have to say "chilean restaurant with peruvian and others cuisine". P.D: friend, as you can read my comment, remember, the unic and original pisco is peruvian. Dont believe in people who only copy recipes and say its of them. Greetings :D

@Diego-es2pd
@Diego-es2pd 3 жыл бұрын
Your comment is false in more than one way. "Chilenazo" is used as an adjetive to the therm "chileno" which is the term used to refeer to chilean people. Chilenazo is the term used to define an chilean way to do something. Also, "a lo pobre" is not from peruvian couisine, it comes from the french recipe "au poivre" which is basically any dish based on pepper, as you can tell, great part of the latin american cousine got french influence at some point. "A lo pobre" is basically any adaptation from the original french recipe. Get your facts straight before making an false statement that can cause misunderstandings. You don't know what are you talking bout.

In Chile they like to play with names of things. A very nice dish or desert is sopaipillas Chilenas con chancaca. It is actually really very nice. It is sopaipillas or fried bread with molasses. Chile used to be very nice, very safe and very cheap but unfortunately they have a Communist clown in power that doesn't know a thing and is ruining the country. Otherwise beautiful country with very good food.
