So I just discovered “dark academia” is and has been since 2010, my “look” 🤣🤣 and when Sierra made the comment about it being “seasonal”, it made me laugh because every year from September until March i say “this is my time!” After those months I’m grumpy because I can’t wear my cardigans. It was the same for me. When I learned this aesthetic was a thing last year my brain went "oooh, so that's what we're doing..." I kinda go a bit "ligher" academia for the summer a lot of the time and swap my winter plaid for light chinos or paperbag trousers and cotton plaid skirts work great, too. Leave the cardi at home and roll up those sleeves for any button ups ;)

1) I try to buy clothes that are kind of basic styles that compliment my body, and use accessories to make them trendy. 2) F other people. There is always going to be someone that's going to judge you. That's their problem. Some people are so unhappy with themselves, that they just spew negativity into the world. That's on them, not you. 3) We all have parts of our bodies that we wish were different. I have big feet. It makes it VERY difficult to find cute shoes, so I wear a lot of flip flops, because it's easy. You can't change it, so embrace it. Don't be afraid to try new styles. They're JUST clothes. Start small, and see how you feel... You might like it. And if you don't, at least you tried.
