I love the concept and then realized a small but very important detail. Since they offer pho noodles, they essentially have a gluten free option! The only thing I think this place might need is, since it's a cafe, is some pastry option so you can have dessert with your meal. I wish to try this place someday!

Many japanese restaurants are specialty. Adding a bakery is so unnecessary will oveecomplicate things and take away from the point, which is this is a noodle place. Just go to a bakery when you're done.

That was fun to watch! The concept was innovative, and your delight at getting to mix-and-match flavors made "Oh My Dots" a must-try food destination for me. I hope they have great success and can expand the number of restaraunts and, perhaps, their offerings. Thank you both for sharing this with us. You always keep your viewers in the know. 💙💙

I've not seen this channel before and you did a better job than certain other youtube channels who have covered this restaurant, namely actually saying the name of the place and including the location in the description, that's really appreciated. Other youtubers just say "robot cup noodle restaurant" and that annoys me. Thank you. It does seem like it's unfair to call it a "cup noodle restaurant" as "cup noodle" seems to imply instant noodles from a convenience store when it looks to me like the noodles (and pasta) are made fresh, which makes the price a lot more reasonable, but I'd just call it a "noodle restaurant". It's on my list of places to visit next time I'm in Japan (probably next year).

@@englishatheart so you want is to be like the corpulent cruise passengers from the end of the Pixar movie “Wall-E”? There is dignity in labor. I dig ditches and do landscaping for my bread. It is humble pay, but it is still dignified in many other ways.
@whoeui3462
@whoeui3462 10 ай бұрын
@@leonardticsay8046Without the need for human labour and money, you would be able to spend your time landscaping your own home or volunteering out of your own good will to work on someone else's/communal property. Or you could spend your time focusing on any of your other interests without needing to worry about paying rent on time or putting food on the table. And while Walle is a great film, it's strongest points are more on the environmental side. We see at the end of the film that the people on the ship have their energy and curiosity for life sprung back into them once they experienced nature again. If jobs were obsolete I would highly suspect that people would rather travel the world and pursue art and knowledge (or whatever interests them) rather than sitting on their ass all day. All though, if they do choose to sit on their ass all day, they are completely within their right to. Although it would be a shame of course.

The concept is better for the tourists but not the regulars. If the customers make the bad combination, they would accept their own selections 😂 without any complaints 😅! I will try it when I visit Shibuya on the weekend. I will follow your combinations, the curry mala pho and the basil Italian tomato noodles!

Only the Japanese would come up with an automated gourmet instant noodle cafe! This would be a great way to open ramen/noodle eateries around Japan and in other countries without having to come up with the important broths and skilled cooks. The fresh noodles and toppings may be a problem abroad, but the whole concept of next-level vending machine gourmet cup noodles is ingenius!

What a fun place! I like the recommendation on how to cut back on the salt since of course restaurant foods are often very salty. I hope you don't mind my saying, the music is very good but in some places is loud enough to compete with you when you're talking. It is nice when it's played over some non-narrated actions, as when the soup is being made though!

Ok it’s really not that robotic, a human hand can just as easily pick up the stock dots, the paper cups etc so am not surprised a human hand is needed to handle the noodles. A DIY ramen store is not that much different in terms of less staff intervention by letting customer do all the work ie choosing the packet noodle & toppings, put bowl in a customised cooker that looks a bit like coffee maker to heat the noodle, only disadvantage is every food item has to be packed in plastics (not environmental friendly), then there’s disposal bowls! Only the idea of the soup stocks compressed in a dot is very original to be fair. Nevertheless impressed by the entrepreneurial spirit to get it running as a legitimate eatery.
