Hannah Martin does makeup for the Royal Family. She was on hand for Kate Middleton on her wedding day and regularly does Carole and Pippa Middleton’s makeup for photo shoots for British magazines and for events. She also does other members of the royal family but is very hush hush about specifics, obviously. She has a big presence on IG and is very famous in the UK. She’s started with Bobbi Brown and was high up in that company before Bobbi left she’s sort of known for. A smoky eye. She’s lovely and does lots of lives on IG.

Fun trivia about artificial banana because I love those runts too hahaha. It is based off of a kind of banana that is actually now functionally extinct. Bananas are grown by basically just copy pasting them so they all are identical which makes them super vulnerable to disease. The bananas we used to eat were actually much sweeter and tasted similar to that artificial banana flavor. Unfortunately because it got wiped out we use a different kind of banana now that is not as sweet. And of course because humans never learn, we still copy paste it everywhere and it's also being severely threatened by another disease 😅

The Givenchy concealer is beautiful, but I couldn’t get a shade match. Dior Forever Skin Correct concealer has my heart because it comes in olive undertones. Otherwise, most of what Dior makes can be found elsewhere in the luxury space.

It's probably because I focus on other things like performances, costumes, sets, editing, framing, color grading, score. The Victoria beckham bronzing brick in 1 is actually my fav too, I recently decluttered all other powder matte bronzers, and I’ve panned the lighter shade (which now I have to be very delicate with the whole thing which is annoying). I also use as somewhat of a blending shade with a bigger fluffy brush, but more on my cheeks, OR to neutralise a blush tone (or just make it more brown) OR almost like a setting powder if I’ve used all creams, feel like I might as well top with the bronzer if I don’t want to do a full powder moment (aka most of the time). The darker shade is nothing close to a contour on me but I can use as a more natural subtle bronzer, but it’s not surprising to me that I have used the lighter shade way faster (in fairness it does kick up a lot I feel like? So fairly easy to pan?). So yes it is weirdly essential for me too but now that you say something I guess I understand why it wouldn’t be for someone else 🤷‍♀️ tempted to try shade 2 now too 😳

I'm never worried about how many shades are offered. As a makeup artist, I keep a couple light coloured foundations and a couple dark concealers and then mix to get the client's shade. It's not difficult to make a mix. Fenty has every shade you could possibly make (I believe around 50 shades)! However, for a new brand, it may be too expensive to roll out a lot of colours.
