Trying Out NicPro Acrylic Paint With Lauren! Dirty Pour And Dutch Pours In Fall Colors

Say hello to the cutest painting helper ever!! Lauren and I are testing out a new brand of paint today, from NicPro. We are mixing it two ways to see whether it is as versatile as a standard tube paint!

For the dirty pour, I mixed the paint with floetrol (about 2:1 floetrol to paint) and thinned with water to a medium-thick consistency. Paint-mixing video is here! • Mixing Paint for Acryl...
Then I added one drop of Spot On silicone oil to each cup!

Lauren, I grinned when you said, "Let's make a painting!" just like a professional. You also paint like a pro. (AND I like how your gloves matched your shirt. Did you do that on purpose? I do like a good coordinating accessory.) Your mom did a beautiful job with her painting, too. I think her friend Claire calls that a bow tie, and the illusion of a bow tie was definitely there. I thought it was just beautiful. Belated happy birthday, Lauren! +++++ Anna, I love watching you paint with your kids. There is a well-known content creator, who shall remain nameless, who was rather brusque when she brough her child on to paint with her. She wound up doing most of the painting after she impatiently took items from hem, and then said, "See? Anyone can do fluid art." You are far more patient and, frankly, the paintings I've seen from Casa de Blount are much better. What was the consistency of the NicPro coming from the bottle? Did it gloop or was it more fluid? I really like the colors - the blue looked good against all of them.

Yes she loves to play the part of the KZbinr, haha! Just a happy coincidence that her gloves matched her shirt. And thank you! It’s hard to walk the line between making a tutorial video (where I have to demonstrate and teach) and just letting the kids have fun in an imperfect way. The paint was definitely thick, like a student-grade tube paint. Not nearly as fluid as a lot of craft paints are.

Thank you!! No I didn’t torch Lauren’s. Paints mixed with floetrol don’t hold on to air bubbles as much as just paint and water, and I didn’t need the torch to make cells!

Hi. Really did love both experiences. But I'm very curious about the 2nd canvas. There is nothing else expect the paints and water ? I mean no silicone or any kid of medium (as Floetrol) ? Because I (do think) have seen some cells once U did use the torch and I wonder how they did appear. Big hugs to Lauren and her talent. And many thanks for your work and share.

Thanks! Yes, literally just paint and water. In that case, the cells form either because of air bubbles popping, or due to differences in paint density.
