Trying out Skyrim - Part 7

In this somewhat longer episode I continued the mainquest but got distracted by some other quests like at the start when I get a letter from a "friend" and when I go to the College of Winterhold and they give me a quest to basically clear a dungeon. In that dungeon I die for the first time when stepping on a lightning trap and although I saw it I was not sure how to disarm or avoid it so hoped for the best that it wouldn't instantly kill me but it did. After that things were going ok for a while, I died another time when a bear struck me down but when I went to the dwemer ruin for the mainquest things started to get bad, especially at the end somehow when a dwemer robot killed me over over again for some reason with his bolts. Anyway now I am in Blackreach and ended the episode there and hope to continue next time and finish this quest for the mainquest. I am not sure I am able to do much of the DLC Dawnguard and will probably just focus on the mainquest in the basegame because there is already enough distractions going on in every episode I play which drove me away from just doing the mainquest. I think the reason things are not going so well sometimes is that I am too focused on the mainquest in this playtrough and probably don't have enough time to get a higher level and get better gear but maybe I should also change my strategy. Also why at the end it didn't go so well was because Lydia was missing and not with me anymore so yea I had to do that entire dungeon solo without anyone watching my back.
