I used a beezwax/boiled linseed concoction on mine. Softened it right up. The steel I had works better with a Kansas churt than an English blue flint. I love this knife. The edge needs some work when you get it but most Condors are that way and the 1075 is easy to maintain. This is a great knife and I dont think anyone who buys it will be disappointed.

Just picked on up last week, my first Condor product. Its a beef of a knife with some heft to it. The functionality/design was definitely thought out on the blade. The 1075 steel will do for this work horse of a knife. The leather is stiff, but like you, I treated it the first day in order to soften it up. The sheath, btw, is designed well. For the money, (under a hundo is what I paid) I believe this to be a good buy. Thanks for the video JITS

I love my sleknam mut I did thin the edge up quit a bit. It came more convexed than my axes. Now it's a fantastic all around knife.

Rodney Hallam I like it so far, if the sheath is hard and dry I suggest sno-seal to treat the leather. It made a world of difference on mine.

Great job! Every time I think I've decided on a blade design I see something different that I like... What is the width of that blade ? Looks pretty deep. I kinda like that !

Plain 'Ole Chuck about 1 5/8 from spine to edge. It's a pretty heavy knife, so far I like it a lot. I may make a minor modification in the future after I play with it some more.

@@jayinthesticks4652 I like the idea of it being a bit thicker... I'd have to handle one before I bought it though.. I'll keep an eye out for one

Looks like a nice knife . does the handle cut out to expose the tang for ferocious striking uncomfortable or seem problematic or is it a benefit? I would prefer no spine/handle exposure and no bow divot. Apple's to oranges but this seems like a great alternative to like a $35 schrade schf36-37 / 51-52 or a $300+ MSK1 or $200 WC knives scout. Although all different designs and materials similar philosophy of use . I like the selkam and the toki but will probably pass on these two but the Condor Low Drag knife is on my want list for sure.

The cut out for ferro rod isn't noticeable in the hand. The divot for bow drill however is very noticeable when I handle the knife in my right hand, luckily I'm a lefty. I doubt I'll ever use the cut out for striking a ferro rod, I prefer to simply use the spine of the blade when needed. Over all I love the knife, and will most likely carry it more than my esee 6 which is an amazing knife using 1095 steel (which also has an outstanding warranty) on my average camping trip.
